
AES and OCA Alliance Join Forces on Open Standard Media Control Protocol
The AES and OCA Alliance will be working together at the forthcoming 137th AES Convention in Los Angeles towards the ratification of the alliance’s proposed Open Control Architecture as an AES public standard. The alliance will also be exhibiting, demonstrating the benefits of the OCA standards-based control and monitoring architecture across networked audio devices from different manufacturers.

TEAC introduced the AI-301DA Hi-Res Audio Player, a pre-main amplifier outfitted with Bluetooth, USB, support for Direct Stream Digital (DSD), and integrated Digital-to-Analog conversion. The new AI-301DA Hi-Res Audio Player delivers a dramatic sonic improvement over physical media such as vinyl, tapes, and CDs, as well as compressed audio formats.

dB Technologies New High Performance Theater Series Stage Monitors
dB Technologies announced the new high performance TH “theater” series stage monitors, starting with the DVX-DM12 TH and DVX-DM15 TH active two-way models. Featuring either 12” or 15” neodymium woofers with 4” voice coil coupled with 1.4” exit HF neo compression driver with 2.5” voice coil, the cabinets have rotatable HF drivers for left or right configuration.

WorxAudio TrueLine Loudspeakers Add Active Integration and Dante
Since PreSonus Audio Electronics announced the acquisition of WorxAudio Technologies, based in Greensboro, North Carolina, in June 2014, the two companies have been busy working on the integration of PreSonus’ Active Integration technologies and Audinate’s Dante AoIP digital audio networking technology. The first results are now being introduced to the market with new TrueLine line array systems and subwoofers.

Mackie New Mix Series Are Ultra-Affordable Compact Mixers
Mackie announced the launch of the new Mix Series Compact Mixers with three new models, the Mix5 5-Channel Compact Mixer, the Mix8 8-Channel Compact Mixer and the Mix12FX 12-Channel Compact Mixer with Effects. Unfortunately they have no faders. Only the larger model features a master fader. But they are rugged… and cheap.

Yamaha New RMio64-D Dante/MADI Converter Shows at PLASA 2014 Together with New Version 3 Software For CL and QL Consoles
Although absent for PLASA London’s move to ExCel in 2013, Yamaha returns to the show this year to help fly the flag for the professional sound industry. Yamaha will be highlighting its new RMio64-D Dante/MADI converter for broadcast and live sound applications, as well as the new Version 3 software for CL and QL digital mixing consoles. Both launched at IBC Amsterdam on 12th September, PLASA London will be their first showing at a UK trade event.
