HEAD acoustics ACQUA Adds Listening Effort Prediction Option
With LEAP (Listening Effort Prediction from Acoustic Parameters) now integrated into ACQUA 6.1.100, HEAD acoustics offers an optional tool for on-site prediction of the perceived listening effort. The software predicts the perceived listening effort of a listener when hearing an impaired speech signal without the need for an undisturbed reference signal. This makes it possible to carry out measurements more efficiently under laboratory conditions and in real-world applications.

Drop Launches OAE1 Headphones as Non-Signature Edition
Drop, the vibrant community-driven e-commerce brand that is now owned by Corsair, announced a reset on its latest Grell headphone collaboration, with the announcement of the Drop + Grell OAE1 Non-Signature Edition. Following the extremely negative reviews that the original Drop + Grell OAE1 headphones received when they launched earlier in 2024 (fortunately, only 1,000 units had been made anyway), the new “non-signature”edition takes the original engineering concept and resets the design at a more accessible price.

Røde Releases Plug-and-Play Dual Wireless Micro for Smartphone Creators
Responding to increasing competition from Chinese manufacturers introducing wireless audio solutions for consumer and content creators who do not require and don’t care about professional features, Røde announced its smallest and simplest wireless microphone solution to date. The Wireless Micro is a pocket-sized dual microphone system for smartphones that uses Intelligent GainAssist technology to ensure results. Røde doesn’t even care to detail what wireless audio technology it uses - it just says it works within a 100 meters range.
