Test Bench: B&C Speakers' 12FCX76 12” High-Performance Pro Sound Coaxial

This edition of Test Bench characterizes the 12FCX76, 12” high-performance pro sound coaxial from B&C Speakers. This coaxial driver is similar to the 12FHX76, where the “H” designates that it uses a horn-loaded compression driver, while the “C” in the 12FCX76 stands for conical-loaded compression driver (the “F” is for ferrite). The 12FCX76 uses ferrite motors for both the woofer and the compression driver. Test Bench: SEAS E0060-08/06 6.5” King Coax

The driver featured in this Test Bench is the new E0060-08/06 6.5 “King Coax” from SEAS. Recognized for several years for its high-performance coaxial midrange/tweeter drivers, SEAS developed this new driver at the request of a studio monitor customer who wanted a compact three-way monitor and asked SEAS to develop a midrange + tweeter coax. The results for SEAS Fabrikker's intense R&D program keep showing with more applications for the company's new generation high-quality drivers. Recently announced by Danish company PBN Audio, the new CX871 speaker kit features two different SEAS drivers: the H1699-08/06 MR18REX/XF 7” Midrange Coaxial Loudspeaker, and 2x H1208-08 L22RN4X/P 8” Aluminum Cone Woofer. The result was recently presented by Madisound at the LAAS – Los Angeles Audio Show.

B&C Speakers Launches New Large Motor and High Output Coaxial Series CXN88

The new B&C Speakers 12CXN88 and 15CXN88 high output coaxial transducers are now shipping. These larger motor alternatives feature a long throw, 88mm (3.5”) voice coil woofer, combined with a 75mm (3”) diaphragm high frequency driver. Both new coaxial drivers offer an excellent balance between HF and LF output, allowing cabinet designers to increase performance without compromise.

FaitalPRO Expands Range of Pro Audio Coaxial Loudspeakers

Apart from several new woofers and compression drivers, Italian pro audio manufacturer FaitalPRO, introduced two new full range coaxial speakers at ProLight+Sound 2017. The new 10HX230 and 12HX230 coaxial drivers stand next to the also recently added 8XH230 8" coaxial model, which expanded the brand's catalogue. FaitalPRO expects these new coaxial configurations to inspire designers to build smaller, lighter, high-quality speakers for stage and touring applications.
