The new reference design solution pairs AVAtronics' Wideband Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation and Speech Enhancement engine with Mint's Ergonomic Earwear Architecture, giving brands a faster path to self-fitting TWS devices compliant with the FDA OTC category. The elegant earbuds are not a coincidence since Mint is the design house that also worked on the prestigious (and unfairly discontinued) Jabra Elite true wireless products from GN.
The reference design couples AVAtronics' field-proven audio algorithms and low-power edge-AI firmware - running on a variety of Bluetooth audio SoCs, including the cutting-edge Qualcomm Series 7 Snapdragon Sound - with Mint’s celebrated industrial and ergonomic design — already responsible for several bestselling products in the category. Together, the two companies intend to offer consumer electronics brands an end-to-end blueprint that slashes engineering time and cost, helping them capitalize on the OTC hearing aid opportunity that emerged after the US FDA's 2022 ruling.
"Our patented wideband ANC platform already delivers class-leading clarity in premium headphones. By teaming up with Mint, we're bringing that same acoustic excellence to affordable hearing health," says Jeyran Hezaveh, cofounder and CEO of AVAtronics. "The reference design lets ODMs/OEMs move from concept to certified product in months rather than years."
"With long-term comfort now being one of the top purchase drivers, we support our clients with know-how based on several generations of design refinement - resulting in proven, superior comfort that elevates the overall product experience for all-day wear," adds Johan Lindgren, cofounder and partner at Mint Design Group. "Pairing our human‑centric design with AVAtronics' breakthrough DSP gives brands a solution of total comfort, ergonomically as well as acoustically."
"Our main priority is in-ear comfort — a hearing device that people don’t feel they're wearing. Mint's mastery of ergonomic design lets us combine all the AI-driven acoustic horsepower inside a shell that users can keep in for hours without ear fatigue," explains Amir Farahani, AVAtronics' cofounder and CTO.

The first public prototype demonstrations of the new reference design are taking place at SusHi Tech Tokyo (Tokyo Big Sight, May 8-10, 2025). AVAtronics intends to provide engineering samples to select partners in August 2025, with a production-ready reference design kit — including Gerbers, BOM, and firmware — scheduled for late Q3 2025. Live demonstrations will be shown at IFA 2025 (Berlin, September 5-9, 2025), the EUHA International Congress (Nuremberg, September 17-19, 2025), and CES 2026.
AVAtronics continues to expand its range of adaptive wideband active noise cancellation, speech enhancement, and edge-AI DSP solutions for consumer, automotive, and aviation markets. Its patented ANC algorithms extend up to 5kHz, setting a new benchmark for clarity in challenging acoustic environments.
