Studio Six Digital, the creators of the popular AudioTools test & measurement platform for Apple iOS, iPadOS, and macOS operating systems, has brought the production of all hardware products, including its popular iTestMic2 and iAudioInterface2, back in-house. The Californian company also updated all products to have USB-C connections to work with the latest iPhone 15 models, all of the USB-C iPads, as well as Mac and Windows computers and even Android devices.

Audix Releases Integrated Acoustics Coupler for In-Ear Monitors

Audix announced an expansion of its test and measurement range with the introduction of the TM2 Integrated Acoustic Coupler for In-Ear Monitors (IEMs). As the company explains, the TM2 was designed as a readily available measurement solution to complement software such as Rational Acoustic’s SMAART or Studio Six Digital’s Audio Tools, allowing monitor engineers to easily confirm the functionality of each performer’s IEMs. The coupler will appeal also to IEM enthusiasts obsessed with comparing measurements.

Studio Six Digital has released an updated version of its Surround Sound Signal Generator for Apple TV. This app is available from the Apple TV App Store and is an essential tool for integrators. To install it, users just need to navigate to the App Store on an Apple TV, and search for “Surround Generator”. When installed, the app offers a variety of test signals that can be used with Studio Six Digital's AudioTools app to help check speaker polarity, delay, and EQ to optimize the surround audio experience.

To see the special pricing, which will depend on what users have already purchased, you just have to open AudioTools and go to the Support & Upgrades menu, AudioTools Store. Then click on the Check Upgrade Cost button.

Certainly one of the most interesting displays at InfoComm 2019 was the Studio Six Digital side of the AudioControl booth, now that the companies are effectively united, following the acquisition in 2018 of part of the capital of the company founded by Andrew Smith. It was great to see important updates on the Studio Six audio test and measurement systems for the iOS platform, but also an exciting new product, the dBPod Smart Sound Monitor.

AudioControl is now shipping the new SA-4140i hi-SPL measurement microphone for the iPhone. With the new microphone and the AudioControl Mobile Tools app, users are able to check SPL up to 140 dBA and analyze the acoustics of any environment, including visualizing the acoustical spectrum. The new package includes the improved microphone, clip holder, windscreen. The Mobile Tools iOS all is available on the App Store and includes SPL Meter, RTA, FFT, DQ Alignment, and Polarity.
