The late decision to take a room at the show was predicated by a change in US distribution and the desire to show the full range of networked audio products without conflict from other brands in the same room.

Interoperability continues to make headlines for RAVENNA at ISE 2017. Taking pride of place on the RAVENNA stand (7-V210) in partnership with the Media Networking Alliance (MNA) is a RAVENNA demo rack that will be used to demonstrate AES67 interoperability. Another important product for members of the RAVENNA community is the new RAVENNA Audio Network Manager tool developed by Digigram and Merging Technologies that will be presented on the Merging stand (7-C169).

Merging Technologies Launches New Benchmark AKD8D and AKD8DP A/D Cards

Merging Technologies introduced two new cards for its Horus and Hapi range of Networked Audio Interfaces. The new boards are available in two versions. The AKD8D is the standard version giving superlative results up to 192kHz PCM. The AKD8DP extends the range up to 384kHz and includes all variants of DSD up to 256 and DXD. Both boards offer ultra-low distortion and noise floor at low levels whilst reducing latency even more.

Audio over IP Expert Nicolas Sturmel Joins Merging Technologies as Senior Technologist

Merging Technologies announced that Nicolas Sturmel has joined the company on November 1st 2016. He was previously Project Manager and Head of Research at Digigram investigating future platforms and innovative solutions for audio and video broadcasting; a position he held from 2012. Sturmel gained a Ph.D in signal processing and information technology from the University of Paris Sud Orsay. Prior to that, he was working in the music production world with a two-year spell as assistant sound engineer.
