
Meyer Sound Announces MAPP 3D Updated Software Tool for Audio System Design
Meyer Sound has announced the release of MAPP 3D, the most extensive upgrade to its system design tool since the original MAPP Online software program was introduced in 2001 and quickly became an industry-standard. MAPP 3D works on both the Mac and Windows platforms, employs local processing (no Internet connection required) and is now available as a free download from the Meyer Sound website.

Oberton Refines ND45 1" Exit Neodymium Compression Driver
Oberton has announced the company's latest 1-inch exist high neodymium frequency compression driver. The ND45 is an improved version of the company's ND2545 model, now incorporating a new phase plug, new dome with vented suspension and copper inductance ring, all aiming to improve its sound characteristics and ensure very low distortion at high sound levels. As Oberton highlights, the smooth impedance response of the ND45 in the crossover region will ensure perfect results with passive crossovers.

SoundID Expands Personal Sound Profiles to More Than 400 Headphone Models
SoundID, the headphone correction software that combines target response calibration, personal hearing profiles and sound preferences, now supports 406 headphones with the addition of 20 new models. Originally launched by Sonarworks at CES 2020, SoundID allows consumers to maximize their listening experience with personalized sound on their favorite headphones, using a new simplified approach that combines software and machine learning to deliver personalized audio, regardless of device.

Global Headphones Market Posts Better-Than-Expected Q2 Results
According to the latest market research by Futuresource Consulting, the global headphones market held up better than anticipated in the period April-June 2020, as units and prices fared relatively well, particularly from mid-May. That’s according to the latest preliminary quarterly tracker results from Futuresource, which reveals a 13% year-on-year increase in value for Q2. The firm also reports that units posted an 8% year-on-year contraction for the quarter, better than expected.
