Fortemedia Unveils ForteSound Coil-Based MEMS Speaker Product Family

Fortemedia, a Taiwan based supplier of MEMS microphones to some of the world's leading smartphone and laptop manufacturers, has now announced the launch of its latest innovation, a coil-based MEMS speaker range. Its first product is the ForteSound FS01, which the company says extends the audio frequency response to 80kHz, with extended SPL Response and Low THD, delivering a new type of high-reliability, low-power audio transducer.

TAD Laboratories of Japan launched its latest OEM product, the ET-703a Super High Tweeter. This new driver is a fine-tuned model of the company's ET-703 super high frequency horn tweeter, which has been highly acclaimed in the loudspeaker industry. With a frequency response from 5kHz to 45kHz at 8 ohms, featuring a triple-slit rear compression design with a 35mm voice coil, the ET-703a is promoted as one of the world's most efficient and broadband reproduction drivers for super high frequencies.

Test Bench: The MD60N-6 2.5" Dome Midrange from the SB Acoustics Satori Line

This is a Test Bench of one of the most intriguing high-frequency drivers from SB Acoustics' high-end Satori line, the MD60N-6 2.5" dome midrange. This design by Danesian Audio of Denmark, is a soft dome midrange that features a non-resonant coated cloth, and a large neodymium ring magnet with a dynamic dome stabilizer and flow resistor. There is also an injection-molded back-closed transmission line enclosure, filled with Thinsulate damping, mounted directly on the back side, covering its entire surface. The DN14.30TK is Lavoce's new 1.4” exit neodymium compression driver, a refined and more compact driver with a titanium diaphragm. Also new is the BF10.10LA, the company's first entry into the compression tweeter category.

Oberton has announced the company's latest 1-inch exist high neodymium frequency compression driver. The ND45 is an improved version of the company's ND2545 model, now incorporating a new phase plug, new dome with vented suspension and copper inductance ring, all aiming to improve its sound characteristics and ensure very low distortion at high sound levels. As Oberton highlights, the smooth impedance response of the ND45 in the crossover region will ensure perfect results with passive crossovers.
