The driver to be characterized in this Test Bench is from B&C Speakers and is the DCX464, a pretty unusual ring radiator compression driver. First, because it’s a coaxial compression driver - a rare category of compression driver, and second because the DCX464 compression driver and the accompanying horn measure down to an honest 300 Hz, which is quite a low frequency considering only a few OEM horns on the market go even as low as 400 Hz. Test Bench: Bianco 44CD-K Compression Driver from SB Audience, a New Brand from SB Acoustics

This Test Bench characterizes the Bianco 44CD-K from SB Audience, a new brand from SB Acoustics. The FEA-optimized ferrite compression driver arrived with its H-250 90° × 90° exponential horn. The SB Audience 44CD-K features a 44 mm (1.75”) diameter voice coil wound with round copper wire on a high-temperature Kapton non-conducting former, driving a single piece Kapton diaphragm and surround. The Celestion CDX1-1732 is driven by a 44 mm (1.75") diameter voice coil wound with edge-wound copper-clad aluminum wire on a high-temperature fiberglass non-conducting former driving a single piece polyimide diaphragm and surround. For this Test Bench, Celestion supplied its 1” H1-7050 “No Bell” elastomer (plastic rubber) damped cast aluminum 70° × 50° exponential flare horn. BMS Speakers Introduces New Coaxial Drivers and Next Generation 1" Compression Drivers

BMS Speakers introduced several new drivers at the Prolight+Sound 2019 show in Frankfurt, some still in prototype stage, others ready to enter production. Among the drivers now confirmed to be released are two new patented coaxial designs, including BMS' first 10" coaxial driver, the 10C262, and a new 12" coaxial transducer, the 12C382. Also new are the company's next generation 1" compression drivers, the BMS 5530 and 5531, taking BMS' ultra-low intermodulation distortion ring diaphragm to a new standard in size to output ratio, and providing the lowest crossover available at that size.
