The Analog Compact Music Cassette Is Making a Comeback!

As audioXpress reported back in October 2018, there's a company again surfing the analog wave trend, successfully selling new reel-to-reel tapes for audiophiles, studios, and archives, and it has now decided to offer new blank music cassettes and is making available bulk cassette tape for duplicators. RecordingTheMasters launched the new FOX C-60 Analog Compact Music Cassette in the retail market and audioXpress interviewed Jean-Luc Renou, CEO of Mulann at the recent Audio Engineering Society convention in New York to learn more.

Studio Technologies Expands Audio-over-Ethernet Networking Options with New Dante and SMPTE ST 2110 Interfaces

Studio Technologies growing line of audio-over-Ethernet products is receiving wide recognition and reflects the growing adoption of audio networking solutions and a changing media infrastructure. The Illinois-based manufacturer introduced two new audio interfaces for applications that use the SMPTE ST 2110 suite of standards – the Model 5512 Audio Interface and the Model 5518 Mic/Line Interface. The company also recently launched the Model 48D Dante Bridge which offers new LAN interconnectivity options for Dante applications.

Celebrating decades of professional audio leadership in its 70th anniversary year, the Audio Engineering Society raised the bar yet again with its 145th International Convention, the place to be to celebrate and experience the past, present and future of audio engineering technologies and techniques. Contrary to typical event patterns, for the second year in a row in New York City, the Convention’s exhibition floor was still packed at closing time – the Jacob Javits Center staff had to plead for a cleared hall with attendees who did not want their experience to end.

AIMS Members Lead AoIP Interoperability Demonstrations on New Audio-Over-IP Technology Pavilion at AES New York 2018

The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) will join forces with the Audio Engineering Society (AES) to host the first Audio-Over-IP Technology (AoIP) Pavilion at AES New York 2018, co-located with the 2018 NAB Show New York at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City, Oct. 17-19. The AoIP Pavilion will consist of six demo pods, an AIMS demonstration area, and a Pavilion Theater, all of which will highlight the latest in AoIP technology and compatibility, including AES67 and associated technologies as they relate to SMPTE ST 2110.
