OPPO Introduces HA-2SE Portable Headphone Amplifier and DAC

OPPO Digital introduced an updated version of its HA-2 portable headphone amplifier and DAC, the HA-2SE. The digital-to-analog converter (DAC) chip was upgraded to the ES9028Q2M, the top-of-the-line from ESS Technology’s SABRE32 Reference series for portable designs. The headphone amplifier is now also further optimized for very sensitive In-Ear Monitors, with a lower noise floor and higher signal-to-noise ratio over the HA-2.

RHA Unveils its First DAC/Headphone Amplifier Alongside Two In-Ear Headphones at IFA 2016

British audio specialist RHA has announced that it will launch three new products as part of a collection of high-resolution personal audio equipment at IFA 2016. The new range includes the company’s first portable DAC and headphone amplifier, the Dacamp L1, and two high-resolution in-ear headphones, the flagship CL1 Ceramic and the stainless steel CL750. All three products will be available to audition at IFA 2016 in Berlin from 2-7 September, ahead of going on sale in October 2016.

Parasound has introduced the ZoneMaster 4 DAX, the first four-zone DAC with crossovers for the custom installation industry. The 4 DAX was designed in response to custom installers who create multi-zone systems based around the Sonos Connect, Heos Link, BlueSound Node or Google Chromecast Audio, and are looking to upgrade their clients’ digital sound quality, with unique connectivity for subwoofers, stereo or mono speakers, and system control options.

RaspTouch Open Source Audio Player Combines Raspberry Pi 3 and ESS Sabre DAC

There are all sorts of projects on Kickstarter, including those for electronics and DIY audio enthusiasts. French company Audiophonics has successfully funded a combination of both, leveraging the Raspberry Pi 3 and ESS Sabre DACs in its RaspTouch Open Source high-end audio player and DAC with touchscreen. Those interested still have three days left to pledge for one of the available options on Kickstarter, from the simple aluminum chassis to a complete kit and top ES9018K2M output DAC.
