OPPO Digital announced that the new Sonica DAC is ready for release. Sonica DAC can be used as a an asynchronous USB DAC with any computer, as a high resolution media player, or even as a network streamer playing content from DLNA servers and via AirPlay and Bluetooth. It features an ES9038PRO 32-bit HyperStream DAC, the audio circuitry is powered by a massive toroidal power transformer, and the audio output path is fully balanced.

Benchmark has recently previewed and is already taking orders for its new DAC3 HGC D/A converter! Following the success of the previous DAC1 and DAC2 D/A reference converters, Benchmark’s newest 2-channel DAC3 features the new ESS Technologies ES9028PRO converter chip and has lower THD and THD+N noise than Benchmark’s DAC2. The DAC3 also employs an advanced high-headroom digital filter design, and all inputs are fully isolated from interface jitter by Benchmark’s new UltraLock3 jitter attenuation system.

Based on the same architecture, the ESS team now introduced the ES9218 highly integrated HiFi SoC combining Quad 32-bit stereo DAC channels, analog volume control, 2Vrms outputs and much more. The new ESS Sabre will be powering LG’s newest smartphone, the V20.
