Focusrite Red 8Line Thunderbolt 3 Audio Interface Now Available

The momentum for Thunderbolt audio recording interfaces in professional studios of all sizes couldn't be higher, with some Windows PC finally supporting Thunderbolt 3/4, and extremely powerful Macs now more affordable and optimized for audio than ever. Focusrite Audio Engineering is offering the perfect mix of connectivity to help users navigate this major technology transition. The new Thunderbolt 3 Red 8Line interface offers two Red Evolution microphone preamplifiers, analog line-level, DigiLink, Dante, ADAT and S/PDIF connectivity.

With competition in the studio recording and particularly in the music production market segments heating up while computer interfaces and network technologies continue to evolve at a fast pace, Avid finds itself increasingly in a hot spot. British brand Focusrite continues to expand its range of audio interfaces and I/O solutions for all types of workflows, while the market is transitioning increasingly to Audio-over-IP (AoIP). While Focusrite is at the forefront of that conversion process with its RedNet range of Dante-based solutions, the company now introduced a new Red interface that simplifies switching from Pro Tools HD to a second DAW, effectively creating a bridge to Ethernet-based network systems.

British company Focusrite announced the launch of its new Red 4Pre flagship audio preamp and recording interface. Combining dual Thunderbolt 2, dual Pro Tools | HD DigiLink and Dante network audio connectivity options, the Red 4Pre features 58-in/64-out channels, and specially-developed digitally-controlled mic preamps, and high-headroom instrument inputs.

Waves Audio had much to show at the 137th AES Convention in Los Angeles, including many news to share regarding their plug-in range. But the focus for the company’s presence was undoubtedly their studio and live sound range of solutions, with continuous demos of the new SoundGrid Studio System and new DiGiGrid Advanced Audio Interfaces. Completely new was the Waves Tracks Live multitrack recording software.
