The Audio Industry Mourns the Loss of George Krampera

March 4 2025, 01:10
KV2 Audio has confirmed the news of the passing of its founder and industry pioneer George Krampera Sr. A true sound reinforcement visionary, Krampera devoted the last decades of his life to the professional audio company he founded in Milevsko, Czech Republic. But his name will be also remembered for his pioneering work with RCF, from where he left to work at B&C Speakers, and later to create Fussion, a new company in partnership with Marcelo Vercelli, which was eventually bought by Mackie, which subsequently also bought RCF.

Born in Czech Republic, after his great run working with those Italian (and Canadian) companies, and with Mackie during the brand’s early glory days, Krampera relocated to the Czech Republic. He dedicated his whole life to making the world sound better and founded KV2 Audio in 2002. On this journey he travelled the globe, creating market-defining products, and earning a reputation as one of the most significant designers in the history of professional audio and concert systems.

George was a great communicator, generously sharing his skills, knowledge, and technical genius with his KV2 team, as well as the many devoted fans who travelled to meet him or followed his work online. Through KV2, George created a level of sound reproduction that was an absolute and honest reproduction of the original source, conveying the true emotion of any artist’s performance and, most importantly to George, making people smile!

Although semi-retired in recent years, George Sr. continued to visit the KV2 factory, spending time with workers — especially the R&D team led by his successor, Radek Stöhr. Working alongside his son, George Jr., KV2’s CEO, he remained deeply connected to the company's mission. In the announcement of Krampera’s passing, the company stated: “Radek and the entire R&D team carry forward his uncompromising pursuit of perfect sound. His spirit is woven into the fabric of our company, and his legacy will resonate with every note a KV2 speaker produces. We will miss him dearly.”

Through his long and successful career, George Krampera’s vision has remained unchanged; to eliminate distortion and loss of information in the signal path, thus providing sound reproduction that has true dynamic range and real representation of the original source.
