Following significant investment in the understanding of compression driver design and production efficiency optimization, the Lavoce research team have developed advanced “nonlinear” modeling techniques allowing their R&D to predict the real-world frequency response and harmonic distortion of any design before building physical prototypes. This leads to significantly reduced development time and the continuous addition of versatile HF devices with low distortion and linear frequency responses to their range.
The three latest compression drivers from the Italian company are an example of these design advancements. The new DF10.103M model employs an optimized annular diaphragm technology with a polyester diaphragm housed in a ferrite motor structure with a 1” exit and 1” edge-wound copper-clad aluminum voice coil. As the company explains, due to the benefits of its annular diaphragm design, the DF10.103M offers a high 50W program power rating and 109dB sensitivity together with a low 1800Hz recommended crossover point and very low distortion for its size.
The new DN10.20 is a compact and high power 1” exit neodymium compression driver with a 2” edge-wound copper-clad aluminum voice coil and a 140W program power rating. A high temperature polymer dome material is used in an optimized diaphragm assembly and phase plug design, which delivers 108dB sensitivity and a low recommended crossover point of 1200Hz. Weighing just 1.15kg and having a diameter of just 92mm, according to Lavoce, the DN10.20 exceeded all performance expectations for its form factor.

Finally, the new DF14.250T adds another flavor of 1.4” exit compression driver to Lavoce’s growing range of large format devices and uses a ferrite motor structure featuring a 2.5” edge-wound copper-clad voice coil and titanium diaphragm and surround. It offers a 160W program power rating, 108dB sensitivity and a 1200Hz recommended crossover point. And as with all large format devices from Lavoce, it also employs the company’s patented Integral Input Surface (IIS) phase plug topology, featuring a smooth input surface phase plug part that helps enhance consistency in production and in the field.
“Our Italian R&D team continues to research compression driver optimization and added a wide range of impressive models over the last few years. This has helped grow our market share in this category as more and more customers realize the premium performance and value proposition we offer and exemplified in these three new drivers,” states Kevin Shove, International Sales Director for Lavoce.
Weather-Resistant Coaxial With ABS Basket
Another new solution from Lavoce is a new weather-resistant 8” common HF/LF magnet coaxial with ABS basket. According to Kevin Shove, the new model CPF082.00K is an ideal high performance coaxial solution for OEM manufacturers looking to design a high-powered permanent outdoor speaker. Features include a corrosion resistant ABS basket, waterproof acoustically transparent dust cap and waterproof treatment on the front side of the cone and surround.

The common motor magnet structure adopts component parts from Lavoce’s range of compression drivers and features a single magnet low distortion ‘dual gap’ motor. Adapted from the company’s successful steel basket version CSF082.00K, the weather resistant CPF082.00K maintains a similar premium performance with 400W Program power handling and 95.5dB sensitivity for the LF and 70W Program power handling and 103.5dB sensitivity for the HF. The LF woofer uses a 2” edgewound copper voice coil on a glass fiber former and the Polyimide diaphragm and surround employed for the HF uses a 1.4” copper-clad aluminum voice coil on a Kapton former. This combination offers a frequency range of 90-20000Hz with low harmonic and intermodulation distortion due to the addition of two demodulating rings.
“The new CPF082.00K comes from a version we created for our Group’s marine audio division which has been very successful, so we decided to show this strength and capability in our Lavoce catalogue. We think it is quite a unique device considering its weather-resistant features and high-performance specification and is already gaining a lot of interest from our OEM partners,” adds Kevin Shove.
Apart from the new CPF082.00K 8” ferrite weather resistant coaxial, during ISE 2025, visitors to the Lavoce booth will also be able to find the new CAN153.00T 15” neo common magnet coaxial, and SAF184.06 18” ferrite subwoofer.
The Lavoce Italiana brand was launched in 2012 and represents the pro audio division of Elettromedia Group, headquartered in Potenza Picena, Italy, supported by a wholly owned manufacturing plant in Jiashan, China, and a sales and warehouse operation in the famed ‘Music City’ of Nashville, Tennessee.
