StormAudio to Promote Fully AES67 Audio-over-IP (AoIP) Home-Theater Demonstration at CEDIA Expo 2023

August 28 2023, 02:10
StormAudio is inviting all attendees to an historical moment for the company at CEDIA Expo 2023. StormAudio will debut a complete immersive multichannel installation connected using the AES67 Audio-over-IP (AoIP) standard and using exclusively digital signals throughout. With six different demonstrations at the Denver show, StormAudio will also be updating its range of immersive sound processors with demonstrations of the latest receiver Fusion 20 and the ISP Evo sound processor.

The first fully digital Audio-over-IO home theater ever built at CEDIA Expo 2023 will be the French company alongside technology partners Seymour-Screen Excellence, Grimani Systems and RowOne Entertainment Seating. These leading industry brands are coming together to present an experience not attempted before at CEDIA Expo, and basically reflecting the momentum for the AES67 interoperability standard in the custom integration industry.

StormAudio will showcase its new ISP Evo 32 AoIP surround sound preamp/processor, available in 20- and 32-channel models, based on its compact and modular Evo upgradeable platform, supporting both AES/EBU (AES3) and AoIP (AES67), allowing for a fully digital connection between the processor and the amplifier or active speaker system.

According to StormAudio Vice President of Sales North America, Gary Blouse, this eliminates unnecessary DAC and ADC conversions, resulting in a sound experience as close to what the movie makers intended as possible. Blouse also says StormAudio is setting the bar with Evo as it is the first all-digital immersive sound processor to reach the CEDIA channel.

"In addition to our own booth, StormAudio products will be showcased in six different demos this year. We are thrilled to support great brands such as Quantum, L-Acoustics, Barco, Wisdom Audio, and ProAudio, in the making of their live demos," says Gary Blouse.

Based on StormAudio’s award-winning ISP Elite MK3 platform, the new ISR Fusion 20 is a 20-channel receiver that integrates 16 channels of the latest Edge amplification technology from Danish company ICEPower, exhibiting extremely low noise and distortion levels with 150W (8ohm) per channel, and up to 500W (8ohm) when bridged. This unique receiver has the DSP power to decode all the latest immersive formats (Auro-3D, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, and IMAX Enhanced), and enable post-processing to optimize any speaker to any room straight out of the box.

Including the highest precision implementation of Dirac Live Active Room Treatment for easy and accurate room calibration, the ISR Fusion 20 supports up to 20 PEQs per channel and can drive up to four-way active crossovers and any number of subwoofers.

Also highlighted at CEDIA 2023, the ISP Evo is a purely digital evolution of StormAudio's highly-acclaimed immersive sound processors This next generation of immersive sound processors (ISP) was engineered as the company's answer to pure digital installations that are now commonly required in “resimercial” projects, mixing studios or luxury marine markets. Based on the award-winning and industry-recognized ISP Elite MK3 model, it retains the same platform and performance in the slim form factor of the ISP Core 16.

Both the ISP Evo and the ISR Fusion 20 have been shortlisted as finalists for the CEDIA 2023 Best Global Product. “We're delighted that the ISP Evo and ISR Fusion 20 have been shortlisted for these awards, which is recognition from our industry and further proof of the high performance and quality of our products. We look forward to win the awards again this year!“ says Gary Blouse.
