Noble Audio Debuts XM1 2-Way IEMs with xMEMS driver and USB-C Connection

December 21 2023, 00:45
Noble Audio announced the launch of XM1, the company’s first wired USB-C In Ear Monitors (IEMs), which also leverage Noble Audio’s strategic partnership with xMEMS Labs. Following the announcement Noble would be releasing the Falcon Max TWS earbuds featuring a hybrid arrangement with MEMS-based drivers from xMEMS Labs, the company now demonstrates its commitment to the technology also in in-ear monitors. The XM1 IEMs are intended to improve audio quality for smartphone users through a 2-way design that combines an 8.3mm dynamic driver woofer and xMEMS' Cowell tweeter.

Through this partnership, Noble Audio is among the first audio brands in the world to integrate xMEMS' cutting-edge MEMS speaker technology into its products. The manufacturer from Texas seems committed to explore the benefits of xMEMS drivers for its unique characteristics, including phase coherence, and treble extension. And with the XM1 IEMs adding to the flagship Falcon Max TWS earbuds, Noble Audio also reinforces its status in the larger segment of portable personal audio experiences.

Interestingly, the XM1 is also Noble Audio's first wired USB-C product, designed to bring its higher grade sound quality to smartphone users without requiring an additional DAC and amplifier. Ease of use and convenience were key factors in the development of this product.
The XM1 was designed using Noble Audio's "Trinity design principle" that emphasizes the selection of drivers, usability, and industrial design to craft a luxurious and enjoyable medium for listening to music at home, on the go, or wherever the user may be. In this case, using a hybrid 2-way configuration with the xMEMS Cowell tweeter, as it did in the Falcon Max TWS. The world’s smallest monolithic MEMS microspeaker, with just 22mm, delivers crystal clear mids and highs, in combination with an 8.3mm high performance dynamic driver for the bass frequencies. A combination that easily delivers the full properties of the solid-state True MEMS microspeaker technology from xMEMS.

Given that smartphones are such an integral part of our day to day lives, the easiest way to consume media at its highest lossless quality and without compromise is through a wired USB-C port. Noble Audio is responding to audio enthusiasts' desire for the best possible direct-from-smartphone audio with the launch of the XM1, which requires no external dongle, DAC or amplifier. Using an innovative active USB-C high quality cable with 4 pin connections, users just need to plug the XM1 IEMs in their smartphones, hit play, and enjoy the music.

The XM1 also keeps with the Noble Audio tradition of industrial design, in this case with aluminum shells with stainless steel nozzles and wax guards that all contribute to a refined IEM aesthetic, while remaining rugged and durable enough to last for years of daily use.

According to Noble Audio, the XM1 will start shipping in January 2024 for MSRP of $699 USD.
