"I’m delighted, and honored, to be standing here today five years since Integrated Systems Events, and its co-owners AVIXA and CEDIA, decided to relocate the Integrated Systems Europe show to Barcelona. After 16 years in Amsterdam, it was time for us to find a new home for our show", said Integrated Systems Events Managing Director, Mike Blackman (pictured above).
Greatest Audio Representation to Date
In a decisive step forward for ISE, the event’s inaugural show in Barcelona will play host to a brand new dedicated audio area, ISE Sound Xperience, as well as the newly-created Live Events Summit and multiple relevant sessions in the Live Events Arena.
Taking place from 15:00-19:00 on Thursday 12 May on the Conference Stage in Hall 5, the Live Events Summit is a new event produced in partnership with live events industry magazine TPi. Focusing primarily on pro audio, the summit will tackle topics including immersive audio on tour, remote mixing, networking and sustainability.
There will also be multiple sessions for audio professionals in Hall 7’s Live Events Arena. Including a presentation on the Digitization of the Concert Hall by Amadeus Acoustics CEO Thorsten Rohde, and an exploration of the Milan network technology and converged networks by L-Acoustics’ Genio Kronauer and d&b audiotechnik’s Henning Kaltheuner. The full schedule can be found here.
The extraordinary recent growth of immersive audio technologies in live performance and installations will be reflected in a brand new feature at ISE’s long-awaited first edition in Barcelona. Multiple immersive audio technologies are now commonly found in pro-AV environments including concert venues, theaters, art galleries, museums and theme parks. Often complementing cutting-edge visuals, immersive audio is increasingly seen as an important method of engaging with audiences old and new – especially in the wake of the pandemic.
The ISE Sound Xperience recognizes this historic shift by providing the opportunity to showcase the latest immersive audio innovations. At the Eventos Filmax Cinema Gran Via complex, located a few hundred meters from Hall 5, all the rooms are equipped with the latest Barco projectors and Dolby digital cinema surround sound processors, ensuring that vendors and visitors can enjoy sound that has depth, accuracy and clarity.
Sponsoring the event and showcasing its latest solutions at ISE Sound Xperience is Canadian manufacturer Adamson Systems Engineering. Adamson is hosting a 30-minute session each hour, starting at 11:00 with the final presentation at 17:00 (14:00 on Friday). There are three different sessions, in a rotating pattern to introduce the company's latest IS-Series of touring products to the world of integration, the CS-Series with integrated amplifiers, DSP and Milan (AVB) audio networking, and introduction of the Adamson Fletcher Machine, a new solution for immersive audio applications.
Additionally, the 14:00 session each day will be presented by Adamson partner TTA, which will showcase its Stagetracker II tracking system.
In a further indication of its enhanced commitment to audio, ISE welcomed a number of new audio exhibitors to its first full edition in Barcelona. Many of these can be found in the Audio Zone in Hall 7.
Underlining the remarkable dynamism of the audio market in recent years, the new additions include Spanish manufacturer Acustica Beyma (7P320), and Amadeus Active Acoustics (7V840), an Austrian company (not to be confused with Amadeus, the French audio manufacturer) which specializes in acoustic enhancement for live music and speech in multi-purpose venues, concert halls and theaters.
Another new exhibitor, Audio Gear Group (2P320), is a US-based company whose three brands – OSD Audio, OSD Black and OSD Nero – offer more than 500 products encompassing commercial and residential audio. Denmark-based Blaze Audio (7T670) also focuses on commercial audio applications with its power amplifier products and control solutions.
Alongside the first-timers, many long-standing exhibitors have also continued their association with ISE to its new home at the Fira de Barcelona. They include Biamp Systems (3D200), whose networked media solutions are to be found in installations worldwide, and Powersoft (7M700/7K670), which will be showcasing the benefits that its Dynamic Music Distribution system has for systems integrators.
Elsewhere on the show floor, the full spectrum of audio systems production is represented by exhibitors including Lawo (5K125), L-Acoustics (7Q400, 2R600) and FaitalPRO (7Q250), among many others.

The Global Systems Integration Community
In addition to invaluable networking opportunities, ISE has much to offer both exhibitors and attendees. A five-day conference program runs throughout the week covering topics that range from retail technology, to control rooms, live events, education, and even even yachts. Over 150 thought leaders and experts are confirmed to participate in the daily sessions.
Professional development opportunities are also provided through certification and learning sessions, curated by AVIXA and CEDIA, both on site and in the city.
"AVIXA is proud to be a co-owner of ISE with CEDIA and we could not be more excited with our new home in Barcelona," says David Labuskes, CEO of AVIXA. “We are looking forward to continuing our strong partnership with the city of Barcelona, as well as strengthening our relationship with the Fira de Barcelona. These relationships were formed before the pandemic and strengthened during it. I’m sure they will only grow stronger as we look toward an amazing future for the AV industry and the ISE show.”
Daryl Friedman, Global President and CEO of CEDIA comments “In-person trade shows are truly a cornerstone of our industry and have been sorely missed these past two years. Yet at the same time, people around the world have discovered that their homes, through beautifully integrated technology, can be a central hub for every aspect of their lives – so the timing of ISE’s return couldn’t be better. What we’ve prepared for the CEDIA conference at ISE will satisfy the live education and connection we’ve all been craving since early 2020. So many people have told me that ISE will be their first in-person show in more than two years. Their excitement is palpable as is mine. I can’t wait to see you all in Barcelona.”
ISE will also proudly present the ISE Immersive Art Experience. For this year’s show ISE has worked with award-winning company Exhibition Hub to curate a unique 650sqm virtual reality experience art installation at the Fira Gran Via which combines several of its award-winning immersive art experiences.
Also taking place on 10-11 May in Hall 4 of the Gran Via is IOT Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC), the largest international event devoted to industry transformation through disruptive technologies. IoT means "Internet-of-Things" and it was once a buzzword to describe connected devices that were supposed to revolutionize the industry and smart cities, among many other concepts (a bit like 5G). As the complete world of systems and products becomes connected in different ways, and edge AI is proving much more valuable, the "IoT" acronym doesn't make as much sense as before, but anyway there are still companies that use it, and there's even an event that now merged with Integrated Systems Europe. Together, ISE 2022 and IOTSWC will present the latest initiatives for digital transformation in many industries in an effort to make sense of the what are "disruptive" technologies. The linking up of the two events will provide an opportunity to explore the crossroads between systems integration and Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins, or Quantum Computing, not forgetting IoT itself.
Integrated Systems Events, the promoter of ISE, predicts that from 800 exhibitors in 2022, the trade-show will grow to 1,775 by 2026, as it will increase the net floor space from 42,000sqm to more than 77,000sqm by 2026, basically making use of the complete Fira complex.
