CEVA and Silentium Ltd., a leading provider of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology and adaptive sound management solutions, announced a partnership to deliver a low power active noise cancellation solution for headsets and hearables. Silentium’s Broadband P2P ANC technology is now available for CEVA’s lowest power audio/voice DSP family.

As CEVA explains, “For consumers constantly looking for an improved experience from their wireless headsets, earbuds and hearables, Active Noise Cancellation is a must-have feature. Headset chip developers require a flexible solution to suit their specific product needs and Silentium’s software-based algorithms coupled with CEVA’s programmable DSP deliver this flexibility, within the stringent power budget of a portable product.”

CEVA and Silentium already showcased a headset reference design based on this solution at CES 2018. The solution is based on a CEVA-TeakLite-4 implementation of Silentium's acclaimed Broadband P2P ANC technology which enhances the personal audio experience. The P2P solution supports broadband fully adaptive ANC technology up to 1 KHz and licensees can choose from feedforward, feedback or hybrid systems for their desired application.

“The CEVA-TeakLite family of DSPs are broadly adopted in wireless headsets and hearables, thanks to its ideal blend of power, performance and footprint for small form factor use cases", says Amit Grauer, senior director of business development at Silentium. "Our active noise cancellation technology delivers a premium experience and together with CEVA, we offer a highly compelling ANC solution to its audio/voice DSP licensees."

“Silentium's Broadband P2P ANC technology offers a tremendous value add with its demonstrable improvement in sound quality when implemented on our audio/voice DSPs,” adds Moshe Sheier, director of strategic marketing at CEVA. “The flexibility to tailor the solution for a specific use case is something our customers truly value and we're delighted to extend our sound ecosystem with this exciting technology.”

A leading innovative Broadband Active Noise Reduction technology and solutions provider for different markets, Silentium's technology generates an "Anti-Noise" signal that reduces unwanted noise in many different applications. The company offers several core technologies for different applications. "Broadband P2P" Technology for headphones applications, "Broadband P2Z" to reduce the noise at the source and "Broadband Quiet Bubble" technology to create a quieter space around the users, regardless of the source of the noises in Automotive EV/HEV, Cars and Airplanes.
