Auro 3D Technology and IP Now Part of Goerdyna Group

December 4 2024, 18:10
The Belgium company Newauro, created in 2022 following the acquisition of Auro Technologies by an investment group, was now acquired by the Goerdyna Group (Dynaudio and Goertek Europe, based in Denmark). To manage the integration and continue to commercialize Auro 3D technologies in the global market, including for automotive applications, the group announced the integration of NewAuro and the launch of Goer Dynamics B.V. in Belgium.

The news of the continuation of the Auro 3D format and its most recent technologies will be welcomed by many who have followed the incredible journey of the company, created by entrepreneur and visionary Wilfried Van Baelen. The founder of the famous Galaxy Studios in Belgium, and the inventor of Auro-3D immersive sound format is now committed to a new venture called AuroMasters, which is being promoted through a crowdfunding platform, with the goal to launch a new high-resolution music streaming service with support for Auro-3D.

Between 2011 and 2022, Auro Technologies NV (Auro-3D) has pioneered true immersive sound experiences with a complete technology suite for both content creators and product developers. Auro Technologies was the first to introduce immersive sound in the audio industry, starting in the professional cinema world. The company further developed and marketed the Auro-3D technology suite to support integrations in leading brands of AVRs, soundbars, car audio systems and even set-top boxes.

Meanwhile, Wilfried Van Baelen's previous venture, transformed into NewAuro since it was sold to the Saffelberg Investment group in 2022, is now being integrated into the Goerdyna Group under the newly formed Goer Dynamics BV company. The goal is to leverage all the technologies that Auro has been developing over the past years, which include the Auro-CX scalable codec for streaming applications with support for multichannel and object-based audio, and the Auro-Scene virtual immersive audio technology that combines channel virtualization and upmixing for consumer audio and automotive applications.

This is a perfect fit for the Goerdyna Group, the Danish arm of Goertek, combining Dynaudio and Libratone brands, with the vast industrial resources of the Chinese company all over the world. The business will continue in the hands of the management team that was leading NewAuro, now operating as Goer Dynamics B.V., a newly formed Belgian entity headquartered in Brussels. A strategic initiative that aims to leverage the valuable portfolio of technologies and intellectual property across consumer, professional audio, automotive, gaming, and mobile markets.

"With the integration of NewAuro's advanced audio solutions, we are well-positioned to enhance our portfolio and redefine what's possible in audio technology," says Julien Bergère, Chief Commercial Officer Europe of Goerdyna Group. Rudy Van Duppen, the CEO of NewAuro will continue as the CEO of the new Goer Dynamics company. ""We are proud to join Goer Dynamics in this exciting new chapter. Combining our expertise and legacy with Goerdyna's global capabilities will open new avenues for growth and innovation in the audio industry," he states.

A Unified Vision
Goer Dynamics will incorporate NewAuro's intellectual property, contracts, and employees, aiming to spearhead innovative projects such as live concerts streaming in high resolution immersive sound for automotive, and next-level extended reality applications for gaming and entertainment. The announcement of the new entity also confirms that the new structure will offer continuity of existing projects, while unlocking new opportunities for product development and global expansion.

Goer Dynamics is established under Goerdyna Holding A/S of Denmark, creating obvious synergies with the global activities of the group in the multiple market segments. The group is a reference particularly in home loudspeakers and automotive audio systems, opening new opportunities to bring Auro-3D technology to more markets.
