Alexa Voice Service is a feature increasingly integrated in wireless speakers, but the connected home hub concept goes way beyond speakers. The new TCL/Alcatel Xess Smart Home Hub with Amazon Alexa, is a large tablet-style device with a 17.3-inch screen and integrated JBL audio, providing bedside alarms and allowing users to hear the news, check the weather, control smart home appliances, and much more. It features an integrated IP camera for remote surveillance and video chat, multi-window view and pre-loaded applications.

Linkplay Technology, a WiFi audio solution provider from Palo Alto, CA, announced the broad availability of a WiFi audio solution that integrates with the Alexa Voice Service (AVS). The integration makes it easier and faster for speaker manufacturers to bring devices with Alexa to their customers.
