TCL is one of the fastest-growing consumer electronics brands in North America, and after some time in the waiting the company finally announced its next generation of Xess now with Amazon Alexa integration. Thanks to new functionality of the Alexa voice service paired with the Xess’s innovative hardware features, TCL is now able to offer a complete mobile home hub that owners can use to control a suite of compatible devices including thermostats, lights, garage doors, sprinklers, and more. This is in addition to other Alexa capabilities and skills like creating shopping lists or catching up on the latest news and weather thanks to thousands of instant hands-free voice commands. The TCL Xess integrated with Alexa is now available for purchase on Amazon at an introductory price of $499.
“With the TCL Xess integrated with Alexa, we’re bringing even greater experience driven value to our customers; offering a home hub that delivers functionality and connectivity that are unmatched in the marketplace,” says Steve Cistulli, President and General Manager for TCT, North America.
“We’re thrilled to work with TCL to bring Xess with Alexa to customers,” says Aaron Brown, Director, Amazon Alexa. “Now TCL customers can turn on and off their lights, get the weather, listen to audiobooks and more—just by using their voice. We can’t wait for customers to try it out.”
Showcasing a vibrant 17.3-inch Full HD display, clean design, and built-in carry handle, Xess is designed to be easy to use anywhere in the home. The Alexa voice service integration also enables Xess to share the latest traffic, weather, news, sports scores and schedules, information and more. Plus, Alexa can connect to smart home devices like WeMo, Philips Hue, Nest, and more so customers can control their home by just asking Alexa. To enhance the functionality of the Xess device, it is being packaged with an IP camera, bringing in-home monitoring to any room in the house, for keeping an eye on the nursery, playroom or living room from wherever Xess is setup. More than just a home hub, it also packs entertainment for the whole family, with access to streaming content from an expansive library of popular apps, as well as dual 3.6-watt integrated JBL speakers.
Pre-loaded with Kitchen Stories, providing access to meal recipes and cooking how-to videos, the TCL Xess makes meal discovery and planning simple. And now with the addition of Alexa, the device combines culinary technology with the ease of hands-free voice control in the kitchen. This enables users to find new recipes on the device, retrieve measurement conversions, shop for ingredients and more – with just the sound of one’s voice.
