Frontier Silicon Announces Smart Audio Solution with Google Assistant

Frontier Silicon announced that its Smart Audio platform, Minuet, has been upgraded to include Google Assistant. Minuet already allows brands and manufacturers to develop smart audio devices with Chromecast built-in. With the addition of Google Assistant, users will be able to control their smart speakers via voice and use these speakers not only to play music but also to access Internet services, such as news, update personal schedules and control a wide range of smart home devices.

Parade Technologies Enables First VESA Certified USB-C to HDMI 2.0 Protocol Adapters Using DisplayPort Alt Mode

Parade Technologies announced that the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) has awarded DisplayPort certification to two USB-C to HDMI 2.0 video adapters, both of which use Parade’s PS176 DisplayPort to HDMI 2.0 protocol converter. These are the first USB-C to HDMI 2.0 video adapters, using the DisplayPort Alt Mode, that meet the rigorous VESA Compliance Test Specification certification testing requirements.

Everyone attending the High End 2017 show in Munich agrees that the best organized consumer audio show in the world was also the strongest this year. High End 2017 reinforced its international focus, trade features and high caliber of visitors. The official figures from the High End Society, the event's promoter, confirm it: 538 exhibitors from 44 countries (+4%), increasing visitor numbers, totaling 21,412 visitors (+10%), 8,002 trade visitors from 78 countries (+13%) and a vast media presence from the whole world.

New Nagra HD Preamp Previewed at High End Munich 2017

During the 2017 High End show in Munich, Audio Technology Switzerland announced it is developing its most ambitious Nagra Audio preamplifier ever. The Swiss company says the new preamplifier, built around the existing HD DAC and HD AMP will complement the existing Nagra HD range, and will be called simply the HD Preamp. The concept will be available for demonstration this summer and is scheduled for release in the fall 2017.
