
Avid Unveils New Generation Audio Software and Venue Live Sound Mixing Surfaces at NAB 2018
It’s a new era for Avid, now with Jeff Rosica as Avid new CEO and President. Of course the completely new generation of products announced at NAB 2018 (Las Vegas, April 9-12) is the result of years of preparation, but the way this latest wave of innovation was announced at the Avid Connect 2018 event is already a sign of changes in the company. Essentially, Avid is accelerating the delivery of new tools, apps, services, and solutions for creative professionals and media companies.

Audinate Announces AES67 Support for Dante Ultimo Chipsets at NAB 2018
Audinate is determined to consolidate its Dante media networking technology as the broadcast industry transitions to full IP infrastructures. First the company announced that with the availability of Dante firmware 4.1 for the Ultimo UXT family of audio networking chipsets, the full platform of implementation solutions for manufacturers now supports the AES67 interoperability standard. And Audinate also announced plans to support SMPTE ST-2110 in the Dante platform by the end of 2018.

Olympus DS-9500 Digital Recorder Enhances Professional Dictation
Olympus introduced the DS-9500 Digital Recorder, a device designed to simplify professional workflows and increase dictation management efficiency through advanced features including WiFi technology, a superior noise canceling system, structural durability and enhanced security. Joining the DS-9500 is the new Olympus Dictation Management System Release 7 software, the Web SCP license and device management program, and the AS-9000 Transcription Kit.

Junger Audio Teams with Tecom Group to Improve File-Based Loudness Control Solutions
Digital Audio specialist Jünger Audio and Tecom Group, a leading software developer in broadcasting and telecommunications, have reinforced their technology partnership by launching an upgraded version of LA Production – an advanced product for loudness control and normalization. Along with its sister product LA Playout, LA Production was unveiled at IBC 2017 as the first in a line of products that Tecom is developing with Jünger Audio.

L-Acoustics Announces Expanding Universe of Manufacturer Partnerships for L-ISA
L-Acoustics continues its campaign to change the live sound industry with its new approach to multi-source immersive sound reinforcement systems, since it launched its L-ISA technology in 2017. Because L-ISA demands a complete multi-layer sound design solution, the company now announced new partnerships with Avid, Blacktrax, DiGiCo and KLANG:technologies. L-Acoustics will promote L-ISA demonstrations at Prolight+Sound 2018 with these companies.

B&C Expands 4” Woofer Family with New 4NDS34 Driver
B&C Speakers added the 4NDS34 neodymium subwoofer to their 4" family of professional transducers. The 4NDS34 features a 34mm copper voice coil, 84 gram neodymium slug magnet, 200w continuous power rating, and high sensitivity (89 dB) from 80-2000Hz. The 4NDS34 subwoofer compliments the other B&C 4" family members, including the 4NDF34 neodymium woofer, and the 4CXN36 high performance coax which combines a 36mm diaphragm compression driver and wide bandwidth woofer.

New Low Frequency Drivers From Lavoce for Prolight+Sound 2018
Lavoce Italiana continues to unveil the new drivers that it will be launching at Prolight+Sound 2018 (Frankfurt, April 10-13). The transducer company will be showing the new MAN062.00 high-power 6.5” neodymium midrange; a new 12" model, the WAF123.02 with a ferrite magnet purposely designed for mid-band applications; and the new and powerful 21” subwoofer, the SAF214.50, able to offer super high excursion using a 4.5” CCAW sandwiched voice coil and a ferrite motor.
