Atlantic Technology Unveils First True Wireless Earbuds

Atlantic Technology's first foray into the competitive true wireless stereo market is an interesting case study. The Massachusetts-based audio company known for its stereo and home theater speakers, and custom audio installation systems, has brought to market the TWS-1 Total Wireless Earbuds, an interesting premium product with ANC, advanced performance and convenience features, including an app to optimize the sound profile to the user’s hearing.

In a demonstration of the new State of Things, the latest and acclaimed Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 true wireless earbuds with Adaptive ANC received a firmware update adding multipoint device connectivity, and a host of additional features. The new firmware update loads to the Qualcomm platform via the Smart Control App (iOS, Android) also introduces a high-resolution sound mode for convenience and quality.

Among the many products introduced in the true wireless earbuds category at IFA 2022, GN stands out with the Jabra Elite 5 announcement. The newest addition to Jabra’s TWS earbuds lineup, the Elite 5 are engineered to provide advanced features for both phone calls and audio listening, at a consumer-friendly price of $149.99. Key features include hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) powered by a Qualcomm QCC3050 Bluetooth SoC, 6 microphones with wind noise suppression and powerful 6mm drivers with AAC and aptX Bluetooth support.

Soundcore, the premium audio brand of Anker Innovations, launched the Space Q45 over-ear wireless ANC headphones and the Space A40 true wireless ANC earbuds. Both models in the new Space series feature an upgraded active noise cancelling system, which the company says it offers a leap forward in the customizable, noise-free listening experience, while delivering ultra-long playtime and impressive audio performance.

Bang & Olufsen announced the launch of Beoplay EX, the latest addition to its true wireless personal audio portfolio. Selling points include superior sound reproduction, and adaptive ANC in a fully waterproof design, making the Beoplay EX "the most versatile true wireless earphone model from Bang & Olufsen to date." The Danish company also says that the new model was intended to simplify personal sound, by offering an ideal combination of performance and style that would make the Beoplay EX earbuds appealing in the current competitive landscape.

JLab’s new JBuds Air Pro earbuds are the latest release from the brand in an effort to reset expectations for affordable true wireless products. With an MSRP of just $60, JLab’s JBuds Air Pro incorporates class-leading features that set it apart from others in this price point, and even from higher-priced products from the leading brands. But the main differentiator is the fact that the JBuds Air Pro promote Bluetooth multipoint for simultaneous multi-device connectivity, a technology that very few products offer and not even promoted as part of Bluetooth LE Audio so far.
