McIntosh Launches C55 and C2800 Network Connected Preamplifiers

McIntosh Laboratory announced the launch of its latest preamplifiers with updated connected features, the return of the Processor Loop, allowing to insert an external signal processor and an update Quad Balanced, 8-channel, 32-bit Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) with support for 24-bit/192kHz and DSD512 files. The C55 Solid State Preamplifier and the C2800 Vacuum Tube Preamplifier, are both Roon Tested and offer 16 inputs, including HDMI ARC and a USB input for DSD and DXD 384kHz support, and a dedicated subwoofer output.

In addition to the company's trademark sound quality, the L-509Z incorporates the Luxman Integrated Feedback Engine System (LIFES1.0) in both the power amp and preamp sections. It's also the first with the Luxman Electronically Controlled Ultimate Attenuator-EX (LECUA-EX) volume control. The L-509Z integrated amplifier is available at a suggested retail price of $12,495.

German company ESI Audiotechnik announced a new fully-passive monitor controller designed to provide perfect playback volume control of studio monitors. MoCo is basically a convenient desktop pad with a big volume knob at the center, surrounded by function buttons and connections in the back panel, offering all the possible options in terms of inputs and outputs. As the German company explains, the design uses no active components that could in any way alter the audio signal.
