Device makers like Boulanger, Sowee, Harman Kardon, Sonos, Ultimate Ears, Netgem, Archos and more are also introducing Alexa-enabled devices for French-speaking users.

Alango and Seeed Collaborate on Voice Interface Far-Field Technology

Alango announced its collaboration with Seeed Technology providing far-field voice enhancement on the Seeed ReSpeaker Core v2.0. Seeed's ReSpeaker Core v2.0 is designed as a multifunctional development board for voice interface applications. The platform is based on the Rockchip RK3229, a quad-core ARM Cortex A7, running up to 1.5GHz, with 1GB RAM. The board features a six-microphone array with Alango's Voice Enhancement Package "VEP" and is able to be customized upon request.

The turnkey test solution now supports the company’s modular multi-channel labCORE front end. According to the Herzogenrath, Germany-based company, VoCAS offers manufacturers even more possibilities to test their ASR system (Automatic Speech Recognition) in vehicles, mobile phones or smart speakers objectively and reproducibly.

During Mobile World Congress 2018, CEVA announced the availability of Dynamic Speaker Management (DSM) software from Maxim Integrated Products for its CEVA-TeakLite-4 family of ultra-low power audio/voice DSPs, allowing for much louder and richer sound on smartphones, wearables and headsets. Rethink Technology Research Publishes Voice TV Remote Controls Forecast

UK analyst group Rethink Technology Research has published a five year forecast on Voice Control of TV entertainment through remote controls entitled “Voice Control of the TV - Decision time for TV operators”. Rethink calculates that some 142.9 million homes (from 21.3 million today) will install well integrated voice technology from an operator by 2022. The forecast is by units shipped from 2017 – 2022.
