Audio Design Experts Awarded Patent For Trillium Technology

Audio Design Experts, Inc. (ADX), an audio technology company from California and the parent company of lifestyle brand RIVA Audio, announced the issuance of a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for its Trillium sound system processor that creates a broad sound field from a compact multi-speaker. The patented sound system processor is used in RIVA’s Turbo X and RIVA S Bluetooth speakers.

Cedar Audio and Merging Technologies have agreed on a patent license and now announced the development of a new, 64-bit CEDAR for Pyramix. Cedar Audio’s Retouch introduced the concept of spectral editing in February 2002. Since then, many software companies have licensed the CEDAR's technology and, in 2014, after a dispute with a US company, “the Retouch patent”, was validated.

This may be from my “word-to-the-wise” department, given the number of Sonos clone products that have proliferated in the market place, but Sonos has filed a lawsuit against D&M Holdings in the state of Delaware over Denon’s HEOS wireless home audio product line. Sonos says D&M Holdings infringes on at least four of its patents.
