Test Bench: Celestion AN2075 2" Full-Range Compact Array Driver

The Celestion AN2075 has a 2”-diameter aluminum cone neodymium motor full-range transducer primarily intended for use in line source arrays. The AN2075 is built on a proprietary six-spoke molded-glass reinforced ABS frame. The T35C002 is basically an Excel line version of the company’s Exotic line T35 Alnico V tweeter, but it uses a neodymium magnet, with a 1.5” coated cloth diaphragm sourced from German high-end diaphragm manufacturer Dr. Kurt Muller (DKM). In this Test Bench I characterized the 12BG76-8, a high power handling 12” NBR pro sound woofer from B&C Speakers. This month’s sample submission is in the upper range of power handling in this extensive group with a continuous power handling rating of 1000 W (500 W nominal). Applications range from two and three-way PA speakers and compact two-way designs for high SPL in limited spaces. Creative Technology announced the worldwide launch of the Super X-Fi headphone holography technology at CES 2019, hailed as "an industry game-changer that will change the way one listens to headphones forever." According to Creative, Super X-Fi recreates the soundstage of a multi-speaker surround system in a pair of headphones, and personalizes it by scanning the user's head and ears, so that the custom-fit audio experience becomes natural like never before. The technology was previewed in prototype at CES 2018 and will now be launched in two SXFI AIR headphone models, one wireless and one USB-powered.
