Shure’s New KSM8 Dualdyne Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone on the Spotlight

Shure was upbeat during NAMM 2016 with the introduction of its new KSM8 Dualdyne Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone, targeting the growing live performance market. The KSM8 is a dual-diaphragm dynamic handheld microphone and a development that Shure says is “the most significant dynamic microphone technology advancement the industry has seen in more than 50 years”.

QSC announced that Gene Joly has been named Vice President of QSC Professional Division which offers live performance solutions including mixers, power amplifiers, and loudspeakers for musicians, bands, DJs, mobile entertainers, clubs and live music venues as well as for A/V rental and production.

Lectrosonics introduced the latest edition of their acclaimed Digital Hybrid Wireless handheld transmitters – the HHa. The HHa features a wide tuning range of 75 MHz or 3 standard Lectrosonics blocks, selectable RF power of 50 or 100 mW, IR sync for quick setup, and a USB port for firmware updates in the field. An ideal handheld for a variety of wireless microphone applications, from live vocal performance to broadcast.

The 2015 Summer National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) show is being held in Nashville, TN, from July 9–11. Attendance at Nashville’s Music City convention center is expected to increase as it happened over the past four years. It’s mainly an MI show, but focus on audio is also growing.
