Neumann Presents New Live Sound Products ​at NAMM 2024

Neumann.Berlin launched several new products for stage use at NAMM 2024, making its range of condenser capsule heads compatible with other wireless systems and expanding the Miniature Clip Microphone System (MCM) system. The KK 104 U and KK 105 U condenser capsule heads make the famous Neumann sound accessible to users of third-party wireless systems. In addition, Neumann is expanding its MCM system with an omnidirectional capsule as well as goosenecks and cables in various lengths.

Focusrite Announces Acquisition of OutBoard Electronics and TiMax Immersive Audio Solutions

Focusrite plc has announced the acquisition of UK based Sheriff Technology Limited, trading as OutBoard, the company behind both TiMax immersive audio solutions and OutBoard stage rigging motor control products and PAT4 enterprise electrical safety testing. They will join the Audio Reproduction division of the Focusrite Group alongside Martin Audio, Optimal Audio, and Linea Research.

In its regular Sound Control column, Richard Honeycutt explored this book by Niels Werner Adelman-Larsen., first published in 2014. This review covers the second edition, published in 2021, which is available in e-book, softcover, and hard-cover. The book was referenced in previous Sound Control articles and details an interesting study of the acoustics for rock and pop concerts and the differences in the acoustical requirements for these types of music. An important and updated perspective on modern acoustics. This article was originally published in audioXpress, June 2023.
