Lithe Audio Launches iO1 All-in-One Wireless Indoor and Outdoor Speaker

Lithe Audio, the UK-based manufacturer of wireless audio systems for residential and commercial installations, unveiled the company's new iO1 all-in-one wireless indoor and outdoor speaker at CEDIA Expo 2022, in Dallas, TX. This was also the debut of the company at CEDIA, and the new iO1 IP66-rated speaker design was immediately praised for its ability to simplify installations in any space, requiring only a power source and accommodating six different mounting methods.

The Wireless Speaker and Audio Association (WiSA) attended CEDIA Expo 2022 in Dallas where multiple WiSA Association and WiSA Technologies announcements were made, including recent WiSA HT certified solutions, new products and award wins, including from WiSA members Bang and Olufsen, LG, Dynaudio and Lithe Audio. All these companies and others such as Savant have showcased their latest WiSA HT Certified solutions at CEDIA. And TV brands LG and Hisense showcased their newly launched WiSA SoundSend Certified TVs including the Hisense U7H, U8H and LG C2 and Z2 signature lines.

Featuring an integrated amplifier, connectivity, and high-quality speaker components in one device, each system requires only a power source for installation, making it simple for integrators to deliver pristine audio streaming in single rooms, distributed systems, and outdoors while enabling the creation of wireless surround-sound home theater systems.

The Wireless Speaker and Audio Association (WiSA), founded by Summit Wireless Technologies, confirmed the launch of the new Lithe Audio’s WiSA Certified Pro Series in-ceiling speaker. The new Pro Series speaker from the British brand was unveiled earlier in November 2020, and is aimed firmly at the custom installation market. It also represents WiSA’s first certified speaker in the installation space, available April 2021 and priced at approximately $950 USD.

WiSA LLC, the Wireless Speaker and Audio Association, founded by Summit Wireless Technologies and already supported by over 60 leading consumer electronics brands, now announced four new manufacturing and brand members, including Sonavox, Lithe Audio (RetroTouch), Zinwell Corporation, and Heavenly Soundworks. The momentum for the WiSA technology is also supported by increasing consumer interest in the broad range of WiSA Certified products already available in the market.

At ISE 2020, visitors could find multiple companies looking ahead and offering Audio-over-IP networking solutions, fast becoming the norm among system integrators. Other companies, like UK-based Lithe Audio have installation solutions that offer the complete scope of connectivity options for residential or commercial audio, combining Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Chromecast Audio and AirPlay2. At ISE 2020, Lithe Audio surprised also by showing a WiSA ceiling speaker that even offers an optional PoE module.

Bluetooth speakers are one of the leading product categories in consumer electronics and consumers certainly are starting to rely on the convenience of this wireless audio protocol to stream audio from a smartphone, tablet or computer. Now, Lithe Audio, a young UK-based AV brand decided to expand the scope of Bluetooth technology also to installation ceiling speakers, allowing an easy expansion of multizone audio in any room, from the bathroom to the kitchen or bedroom.
