SEAS Takes Over Soundcare SuperSpikes Business and Brand

Soundcare AS was established in June 1996, in Norway. It developed from an idea of making the best spikes for audio equipment that wouldn't cause damage to the surfaces. Now, loudspeaker driver manufacturer SEAS Fabrikker, which has been manufacturing Soundcare products in-house since 2017, is taking over the Soundcare SuperSpikes business and brand.

Canadian decoupling and isolation solution experts IsoAcoustics continue to expand its range of products for high end home audio. The company now added the zaZen I and II isolation platforms, a more affordable solution designed to isolate turntables, tube amps, and other sensitive audio equipment from any interference caused by vibrations and resonances. The name zaZen is from Zen Buddhism and refers to sitting in peaceful meditation.

This limited push to promote a trade show again, lead some major consumer electronics companies and brands to converge their announcements in the week from September 1-5, with showcases streamed to the world live from the Berlin exhibition grounds. Some announcements were relevant to the audio industry and included the Qualcomm press conference, which used the opportunity to launch its latest Adaptive ANC platform, an important step towards smart true wireless earbuds.

McIntosh Group Sells Audio Research to Former Employees

For the past six years, Audio Research has been owned by the McIntosh Group. Now, TWS Enterprises, LLC, a privately held company owned wholly by Trent Suggs, has agreed to purchase Audio Research from the McIntosh Group, Inc. subject to completion of due diligence which is expected to be finalized by the end of August 2020. As Audio Research celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year, the Minneapolis company will embark on the next chapter of its journey in high performance music reproduction.
