Among the uncertainty of Bowers & Wilkins being acquired (apparently a negotiation process is ongoing with Sound United, the parent company to Denon, Marantz and Polk Audio) and the certainty of the recent restructuring, following the separation from Eva Automation, the famous brand is celebrating 25 years in the audio industry, six generations of engineering, and more than a million products sold. To signal the anniversary, B&W launched the new 600 Series Anniversary Edition, the seventh generation of 600 Series loudspeakers from Bowers & Wilkins.

McIntosh Group Sells Audio Research to Former Employees

For the past six years, Audio Research has been owned by the McIntosh Group. Now, TWS Enterprises, LLC, a privately held company owned wholly by Trent Suggs, has agreed to purchase Audio Research from the McIntosh Group, Inc. subject to completion of due diligence which is expected to be finalized by the end of August 2020. As Audio Research celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year, the Minneapolis company will embark on the next chapter of its journey in high performance music reproduction.

Global home audio products posted an unexpected strong performance in Q2 2020, delivering 20% shipment growth and 10% value growth quarter-on-quarter, according to preliminary results from Futuresource Consulting’s latest quarterly tracker. APAC leads the way, with North America and Western Europe in recovery.
