Lavoce Adds 15" Model to CSF Range of Ferrite Common HF/LF Magnet Coaxials

Lavoce Italiana will present the latest CSF153.00K, a new 15” ferrite common HF/LF magnet coaxial, at the NAMM and ISE trade shows in January 2024. This new model, which can be used for 2-way or 3-way point source solutions, as well as a stage monitor, takes the company's CSF range qualities to a more powerful level. The new Lavoce CSF153.00K has a 700W Program power handling and 98dB sensitivity for the low frequencies, and 120W Program power handling and 108dB sensitivity on the high-frequencies.

Italian pro audio loudspeaker specialists FaitalPRO have announced the new FE300 series of ferrite magnet low frequency drivers, designed and built in direct response to high-volume sound reinforcement applications, requiring an evolved and more powerful series of products which would enhance the companies successful FE200 series. Building on the concept FaitalPRO designed four new woofers, all equipped with a powerful ferrite magnet assembly and a stamped steel basket in keeping with the key characteristics of the FE series.

While many other OEM pro audio driver manufacturers have temporarily retreated and quarantined during the COVID-19 pandemic, others opted to stick to their original plans and albeit the cancellations of major trade-shows, maintained their product schedule. Benefiting from some additional time to refine designs, Beyma continued its search to break the limits of acoustic technology and now unveiled the latest QLEX woofer series, developed to offer the extra energy and performance that the latest generation of sound reinforcement systems demand.

In this edition of Test Bench, we characterize the SB42FHCL75-6, a 15” home audio subwoofer from OEM driver manufacturer SB Acoustics. The SB42FHCL75-6 has an impressive feature set, with a stiff 15” cone, NBR high-excursion surround, and 6.5” diameter flat cloth spider, driven by a 3” four layer voice coil. This Test Bench characterizes Scan-Speak's 10" aluminum cone subwoofer, the 26W/4558T00, a high-end home audio driver from the Danish brand's Discovery lineup. Scan-Speak obviously spent a lot of time designing the cone for this woofer, made with a thick black flat profile anodized aluminum, with an articulation that should add considerable stiffness.
