Jaybird Launches Fifth-Generation Freedom Wireless Bluetooth Buds

Jaybird, the pioneer brand in premium sport wireless headphones, recently acquired by Logitech, announced its fifth-generation Freedom Wireless Bluetooth Buds, combining style, sound and increased comfort into its smallest and most advanced wireless earbuds model. The new Jaybird’s Freedom allow listen-while-charging and secure comfortable fit for all active lifestyles, with control provided by the MySound app.

The race is on! Following previous simultaneous efforts to create the market’s first true wireless earphones (meaning no connecting wire and internal battery), Erato Audio Technology has launched a campaign on Kickstarter to promote awareness for the Apollo 7, which the company says are the industry’s first micro driver, true-wireless, waterproof earphones. Erato introduced the Apollo 7 at the MWC 2016 show in Barcelona and are actually ready to ship soon.

Lenovo’s new subsidiary, ZUK, is using ams’ Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) analog speaker driver for the earbuds of its new Z1 smartphone. This is also the first ANC headset in the world to feature the new USB Type-C connector rather than the traditional 3.5mm audio jack. The fully-integrated ams device offers noise cancellation with very low power consumption, making it ideal for headsets, headphones and ear pieces.

Never worry about tangled up earbud wires again, says NXP Semiconductors at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (March 2-5). The Dutch semiconductor giant is demonstrating Near Field Magnetic Induction (NFMI) technology in a truly wireless earbud including wireless audio streaming from ear to ear, using its new NxH2280 NFMI based radio transceiver.

HearNotes, a San Francisco-based startup, is betting strongly on mobile audio technology. Introduced at the CES 2015, the HearNotes WireFree Earbuds are engineered with Kleer technology, which delivers lossless CD-quality audio with minimal power consumption and enhanced transmission range.

An interesting project was launched recently on Kickstarter, aiming to build the world’s first wireless 3D printed custom-fit earbuds. OwnPhones intends also to perfect noise-filtering technology and achieve high-quality wireless streaming to battery-operated earbuds.
