QSC Launches New Firmware for TouchMix Series Compact Mixing Consoles

Taking small-format mixing to the next level for both professional and novice users alike, QSC introduced Version 3.0 for its TouchMix-8 and TouchMix-16 Series compact mixers and Version 1.2 for the TouchMix-30 Pro digital mixing console. British digital audio solutions company, DiGiCo, announced the appointment of Austin Freshwater as its General Manager. Austin joins the DiGiCo team from Canon, the imaging and information technology solutions company, where he spent the previous 10 years working in sales, latterly becoming Sales Director for UK and Ireland. Austin will be working closely with DiGiCo’s VP Sales, Ian Staddon.

QSC announced the release of the TouchMix DAW Utility Version 2.0. The TouchMix Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) Utility is a free software application for the TouchMix series that enables and simplifies two-way migration of digital audio wave files between TouchMix and DAW software on either Windows or Apple Mac computers. Version 2.0 offers this capability to users of all three models of TouchMix digital mixers, including the TouchMix-30 Pro.

Yamaha TF Series Digital Mixers Get Firmware Update for AES67 Support

Yamaha released a major firmware update for the company’s TF series digital mixers, bringing with it significantly expanded audio networking capability. The firmware update — version 3.1 — allows TF consoles and the recently released TF-RACK equipped with an NY64-D Dante interface card to connect to audio networks, such as Ravenna, that support the AES67 audio-over-IP interoperability standard.

DiGiCo Reveals SD12 Compact Multi-Application Digital Mixing Console

During NAMM 2017, in Anaheim, CA, British company DiGiCo had a somewhat understated presence, back to back with its strategic technology partner Waves and the joint-development company DiGiGrid. Still, everything was new in the booth, starting with the SD7 Quantum 7 Stealth Core 2 upgraded console, followed by the S31, basically an S21 with 31 faders, and three 10" multi-touch screens. The main highlight at the DiGiCo booth was the worldwide launch of the new SD12, affordable, multi-application digital console.

PreSonus Unveils Third-Generation StudioLive Series III Consoles

The result of nine years of R&D, PreSonus’ new third-generation StudioLive Series III digital console/recorders are fully recallable. At NAMM 2017, the new series launched with two models: the 16-channel StudioLive 16, with 17 touch-sensitive, motorized faders and 17 recallable XMAX preamps and the top-of-the-line StudioLive 32, with 33 touch-sensitive, motorized faders and 33 recallable XMAX preamps.
