During the 137th International Audio Engineering Society (AES) Convention in Los Angeles, CA, a session on the Broadcast & Streaming Media Track discussed “Loudness for Streaming and Radio.” Thomas Lund (TC Electronic), an expert and longtime promoter of the loudness standards currently implemented in TV broadcast, chaired the session, which included an interesting angle from Bob Orban (Orban) and Frank Foti (Telos/Omnia).

The Audio Engineering Society Returns to New York City in October 2015

Following highly-successful conventions in Los Angeles (2014) and New York (2013), which saw increased attendance as well as the development of expanded attendee and exhibitor offerings, the Audio Engineering Society will return to the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City for the AES139 International Convention. Jim Anderson and Paul Gallo have been announced as co-chairs for the 139th convention.

The Audio Engineering Society Standards Committee Holds Successful AES67-2013 Standard “PlugFest” Event

At the end of October, the AES hosted its first AES67 interoperability “PlugFest” at the IRT in Munich. 15 people from 10 different companies gathered for 4 days, testing 15 different AES67 implementations for basic interoperability. The result was very promising, as all the implementations were able to interoperate with each other.
