Loudspeaker modeling files are most often used with acoustical modeling programs such as EASE, Focus, CATT-Acoustic, and others to help determine how well the loudspeakers cover the audience areas and how much “spill” there is on the room’s surfaces. It is important to have accurate data about the characteristics of the loudspeakers that are used in the models. With the introduction of the IBM PC and DOS operating system in the early 1980s, Thiele-Small (T-S) simulation software for enclosure design became a must-have for speaker system designers. For the most sophisticated design efforts, there are now magnetic circuit design software and finite element analysis (FEA) cone and thermal prediction simulation software. Jensen Transformers Introduces new ISO-MAX products at AES 2017

At the 143rd Audio Engineering Society Convention in New York, Jensen Transformers expanded its ISO-MAX line of products. The new PI-RJ2X for balanced XLR connections, and the CI-RJ2R for unbalanced RCA connections, are both designed to take a stereo L-R signal, sum it into mono, and output the signal over Ethernet. Jensen also introduced the DIN-LI-SUM-B, and DIN-LI-SUM-U, 35mm DIN rail interface modules, with L-R summing functionality.
