ALC NetworX to present on AES67 at NAB 2015

ALC NetworX, developers of the RAVENNA networking technology, will be intervening on two presentations scheduled on the topic of AES67 and how it can be integrated into products and projects. AES67 is the new audio-over-IP networking standard introduced by the AES in September 2013 aimed at improving interoperability between different protocols. RAVENNA is already fully AES67-compatible.

In a continuous effort to offer standards-agnostic solutions and implement real-time IP-based audio distribution, Riedel Communications confirmed the adoption of AES67/RAVENNA connectivity options for its full range of solutions. Riedel was one of the first manufacturers to offer AoIP multichannel solutions with its proprietary solution, RockNet, and also implemented AVB options for its media distribution solutions.

Dante Card and New Firmware for Sennheiser’s Digital 9000 Series Now Available

Announced in September 2014, Sennheiser now confirms the availability of its Dante card for the EM 9046 receiver, enabling the top-of-the-range Digital 9000 wireless microphone system to be integrated into Dante audio-over-IP networks. Sennheiser also updated its Digital 9000 firmware and the new Wireless Systems Manager 4.2 software with a set of optimized monitoring functions.

The Audio Engineering Society Standards Committee Holds Successful AES67-2013 Standard “PlugFest” Event

At the end of October, the AES hosted its first AES67 interoperability “PlugFest” at the IRT in Munich. 15 people from 10 different companies gathered for 4 days, testing 15 different AES67 implementations for basic interoperability. The result was very promising, as all the implementations were able to interoperate with each other.

Harman’s Studer announced AES67 integration for its Infinity Core mixing engine, which drives the company’s flagship Vista X and Vista V digital audio consoles. AES67 compatibility makes Studer’s Infinity Core the first x86-based AoIP core, incorporating standard off-the-shelf IT components and a Linux operating system. The implementation is based on Digigram’s LX-IP AES67 PCIe Sound Card.
