Following the announcement a year ago that WiiM was partnering with Origin Acoustics to bring to market a dedicated range of installation-oriented solutions, at CEDIA Expo 2024 the Linkplay brand now delivered with actual products. Completely new is the WiiM CI MOD S streamer DAC and the WiiM CI MOD A80, a streaming amplifier model. WiiM also confirmed that they’ve partnered with Soundtrack Your Brand to add a streaming service for commercial use to all its devices.
WiiM and Origin Acoustics showcased the eagerly awaited first products for commercial and residential installation at CEDIA 2024. Already recognized for its range of affordable connected streamers, WiiM returned to the Denver show to unveil WiiM's latest innovations in the Customer Installation space together with Origin Acoustics.
The new MOD S streamer and MOD A80 amplifier are designed to elevate both residential and commercial custom Both products embody WiiM’s core values of quality, user-friendliness, and seamless compatibility with various control platforms, while also providing continuous support and profitability for dealers. These solutions underscore Origin Acoustics' pivotal role as a key distribution partner for WiiM’s Home and Custom Installed product lines across the United States and Canada.
Building on a year of successful partnership, the new WiiM Customer Installation (CI) Series debuts with the WiiM CI MOD S, a high-resolution audio streamer featuring an AKM AK4493SEQ DAC, with support for 24-bit/192kHz and versatile connectivity for various installation needs. Also, debuting is the WiiM CI MOD A80, which combines the highest performance 32-bit ESS Sabre 9018K2M DAC with a TI TPA3255 Class-D amplifier, delivering 60W per channel at 8 ohms and subwoofer output, and supporting the latest Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 technologies. The inaugural batch of these products is scheduled to ship by October 2024.
The new WiiM CI MOD S streamer is powered by USB-C (an adapter is included) and offers a bit-perfect digital (SPDIF) output over optical or coaxial connections, plus analog RCA line. There is also an analog RCA aux input and on SPDIF optical input to connect existing sources or music players, and users can also connect devices via Bluetooth if they so wish. Supported control platforms include Control 4, RTI, URC, and Josh.ai.
The WiiM CI MOD A80 streaming amplifier takes 100-240V AC power and connects via Wi-Fi 6E triple bands, Bluetooth 5.3 with BLE receiver and transmitter. Audio inputs include analog (RCA), digital optical, and HDMI ARC, up to 24-bit/192 kHz, and remote control is ensured via the same known platforms such as Control 4, RTI, URC, and Josh.ai. Otherwise, the CI MOD A80 supports all streaming services and protocols, including Roon, as the rest of the WiiM range.
Soundtrack Your Brand
WiiM also confirmed a partnership with Soundtrack (Soundtrack Your Brand) to integrate the company's commercial music streamig service into the WiiM Pro, WiiM Pro Plus, WiiM Amp, the recently launched WiiM Ultra and the new WiiM commercial installation devices offered through Origin Acoustics. This partnership introduces one of the world’s most comprehensive music streaming services for businesses.
Soundtrack's music streaming platform is used by restaurants, hotels, bars, cafes, retail shops, spas, corporate offices and more. Founded in 2013 by Ola Sars as a joint effort with Spotify, Soundtrack is the only offering of its kind servicing over 80,000 businesses across 74 countries with a music catalog of more than 100 million tracks cleared for commercial use. Standout features include ready-made schedules, multi-zone capabilities, explicit lyrics filter and the first-of-its-kind AI Playlist Creator for businesses.
