Home audio and hi-fidelity manufacturers know that demand for high-quality home theater speakers is again on the rise. French loudspeaker manufacturer Triangle Manufacture Electroacoustique updated its range of Thetis subwoofers with two new models. The new Thetis 340 and Thetis 300 compact subwoofers are in line with the brand’s DNA and can be used as part of a home theater setup or as a complement to a stereo system. Available in Black Ash, High Gloss Black and High Gloss White finishes, these down-firing subwoofers blend easily into all interiors.

Featuring 25cm (Thetis 340) and 20cm (Thetis 300) downward-facing drivers, the new Triangle compact subwoofers allow home audio setups to explore the full sound spectrum, creating unique and immersive experiences. The Thetis 340 and 300 operate using a bass-reflex principle, extending their bandwidths even at low volume. With a laminar port, airflow noise is significantly reduced compared to a classic tubular port.

The transducers use composite membranes made of cellulose and carbon, that ensure high rigidity. Combined with oversized engines and controlled suspensions, the speakers have excellent power handling, reproducing all types of dynamics without any difficulty. Equipped with the latest generation of Class-D amplifiers, the Thetis 340 and 300 offer 250W/150W RMS, with 400W/250W peak power, respectively. Using steep crossover slopes, matching the Thetis subwoofers to main speakers is easier, while the design of the cabinets was thoroughly studied and optimized to eliminate vibrations.

More importantly, these new Thetis subwoofers feature numerous inputs, allowing connections with all types of amplifiers and systems. The two models include a direct LFE input for home theater set-ups, with settings that will be determined directly by a dedicated amplifier. They also feature standard RCA inputs for Hi-Fi setups, and high-level inputs for amplifiers with no suitable output. With those connections, users can manually adjust the volume, the phase, and the frequency roll-off for a perfect fit with the main speakers.

The Triangle Thetis subwoofers also include a remote control for volume and standby. An LED display on the front panel, underneath the Triangle logo, provides visibility of the sound setting. To save energy, an automatic standby is enabled after 20 minutes if there is no signal. As soon as a new signal is received, the subwoofer is automatically reactivated.

The Thetis 340 & 300 subwoofers are available in High Gloss Black, High Gloss White and Black Ash finishes, with prices ranging from 599 to 849 Euros, depending on finish.
