Triangle expanded its range of home theater products with the new BRA1 surround effect channel speaker. Following the global success of the Borea home theater range, the French speaker manufacturer expands it with a solution that is designed for both an upward firing speaker configuration in immersive setups, or being used as wall surround channels. Cabinet finish options totally match the rest of the Borea range.
The new Triangle Borea BRA1 speakers are an ideal complement to an home theater set-up thanks to their adjustable crossover, allowing the design to be used as upward firing immersive effects, where the speakers are placed on top of the main Borea speakers, with the BRA1 angled up, using the sound wave reflection principle, or simply applied on the back or side walls thanks to their dedicated mounting system. With an angled front, the BRA1s allow for precise and direct targeting of the sound waves towards the listener.
This flexibility creates a versatile option for home theater systems that range from a simple 3.1.2 to a classic 5.1.2 setup to an improved 9.2.4 fully immersive audio configuration, with clear, dynamic, and precise sound reproduction. When used as upward firing, the 80W BRA1s can be placed directly on the BR03, BR07, BR08 and BR09 speakers of the Borea range.
The Triangle BRA1 speaker was carefully designed to ensure a consistent sound, using the same technologies as the current Borea range, featuring an EFS 25mm fabric dome tweeter combined with a natural cellulose paper membrane driver. Discreet and versatile, the BRA1 speakers are supported by a special crossover that can adjusted according to their use. Placed on top of the main speakers, the BRA1 will require a different behavior than a traditional direct dispersion speaker and it becomes necessary to compensate for the directivity in order to maintain the entire bandwidth that is altered by the sound wave reflection.
Two types of crossovers are available in the BRA1 to fully explore the available bandwith from 90Hz to 22KHz. A linear one for direct dispersion of horizontal effects, and an upward crossover to compensate for the losses associated with indirect dispersion of vertical 3D effects. Triangle also suggests combining speakers from its Borea and Tales ranges to create home theater setups with great sound and value.
The BRA1 speakers, like all in the Borea range, are inspired by preceding research and innovations from Triangle, created for the Esprit Ez series. Triangle's declared goal is to open the Hi-Fi and Home Theater market to a wider audience, allowing access to quality systems with lower budgets. The Borea range features MDF cabinets with internal bracing to limit vibrations, using the same electronic circuits and drivers as the Esprit EZ range.
The entire Borea range has received the prestigious EISA Award 2020-2021 in the "Best Buy Home Theatre Speaker System" category. The Borea BRA1 speakers are available now, in 4 finishes (White, Walnut, Black, and Light Oak) with a retail price of 399 EUR per pair.
Founded 41 years ago, Triangle develops, designs and assembles high fidelity speakers in Soissons, about 100 kilometers northeast of Paris, and one of the most ancient towns of France. Created in 1980 by Renaud de Vergnette, Triangle has proudly shown the world its passion for sound reproduction and legitimate Made in France values.
