SPAT Revolution is a state-of-the-art real-time immersive audio mix engine, in which incoming source objects – such as the Audio-Technica BP3600 capture – can be positioned in space using an intuitive graphical interface. SPAT software is developed and distributed by FLUX:: Immersive, an audio processing software company that was created to bring to market the technologies developed at the French research institute Ircam (Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music), one of the world's leading public research institutes.
The Audio-Technica BP3600 immersive audio microphone has eight compact capsule assemblies with excellent high-frequency characteristics integrated into the body while remaining compact and lightweight enough for single-operator usability and easy setup. This practical, state-of-the-art broadcasting solution captures realistic sound that will bring the recording location directly to listeners without the need for extensive equipment.
The BP3600's eight microphone modules extend from the body to form a cube with 15cm (5.9 inches) between each microphone assembly. Each microphone assembly in the eight-channel near-coincident array is equipped with a 12mm (0.47-inch) hypercardioid capsule to produce ideally separated, discrete signals and deliver immersive audio experiences with ample spaciousness.

SPAT Revolution 23.08 improves overall performance in automation, OSC, snapshots, and audio processing. It now features the ability to group sources and easily take control of them together; new Absolute and Trim modes for editing; and a new speaker setup import, adding EASE (AFMG) XLD format import with support for speaker orientation for WFS reproduction systems. The update introduces more than 200 new speaker arrangements with categorization by DAW, Format, Standard, Type, and more.
Now with Native ARM / Universal binary 2 for the application and the integration plugins, including new VST3 integration plugins, this SPAT Revolution update also introduces support for AAX Pro Tools 23.06 new track width, and simplifies audio routing with Local Audio Path (LAP) for tracks or return buses up to 9.1.6 or up to 7th order ambisonic.
