Shure Now Offers Expanded Conferencing Solutions With Stem Ecosystem and Microflex Ecosystem

Following the acquisition of Stem Audio in late 2020, Shure is redefining its conferencing portfolio, as workspaces continue to evolve in today’s hybrid workforce. The company reinforces its market-leading position by combining its Microflex product line with Stem Ecosystem solutions as complete audio systems for daily conferencing and meeting needs without compromising on performance or ease of deployment.

The desire for a complete AV conferencing solution that sounds great and is user-friendly has never been in more demand. Shure recognizes this and is extending its offerings to additional markets later this year. For now, in direct result of the acquisition of California-based Midas Technology, also known as Stem Audio, finalized in December 2020, Shure is consolidating its conferencing audio ecosystem with more networked audio choices. Stem Audio provided a suite of products including table, ceiling and wall microphones as well as loudspeakers, control interfaces and hubs that could easily be integrated with the Microflex product line from Shure.

With the now rebranded Stem Ecosystem solutions, both end-users and integrators have the freedom to mix and match devices to create the perfect pickup in any collaboration space. According to Shure, since Stem Ecosystem products were designed for any size rooms, the solutions can easily integrated and managed together, and all the devices are backed by a robust platform full of tools designed to make the process of adopting new technology effortless.

“We believe in the difference a complete solution can make,” says Jacob Marash, former CEO and founder, and now Managing Director of Stem Audio. “By joining forces, we can truly serve any type of customer from any technical background with a complete portfolio for all types of environments, whether it requires a fully integrated system or a solution you can install yourself.”

Shure Stem Ecosystem solutions - all networked PoE+ powered products - include wall and table speakerphones, along with a ceiling microphone that blends into any room and syncs with networked loudspeakers, as well as dedicated control systems for a complete audio package. Stem Wall is a conferencing soundbar equipped with 15 microphones that perform beamforming, plus full-range speakers and subwoofers. Stem Table is a desktop solution optimized for tabletops and flat surfaces, equipped with nine microphones that perform real beamforming and a downward-facing speaker for superior performance.

For fixed installation, Stem Ceiling is a 100 microphone ceiling array that offers two mounting options (low profile or chandelier mode) and three-beam options for improved coverage in any meeting room. Stem Speaker is a PoE+ powered external speaker with three mounting options and a powerful driver. Finally, Stem Hub is needed when more than one Stem Ecosystem device is used in a room. With USB Type-B, Ethernet, Dante, VoIP connectivity, and pluggable terminal blocks for external speakers, the product enables multiple units to communicate with each other in the room and function more effectively as a solution. There's also Stem Control, a dedicated touch controller that connects to a single Ethernet connection, allowing access to the Stem Ecosystem platform and remote management of an organization. It can be used also as an in-meeting controller with video conferencing platforms.

From microphone to DSP to loudspeaker, Shure’s Microflex Ecosystem solutions offer a complete networked portfolio for meetings, conferences and collaboration for the most demanding spaces and clients. All Microflex Ecosystem products support Dante network infrastructures and can be custom-tailored to meet precise coverage, connection, and control requirements in complex meeting spaces, working with leading third-party software and hardware conferencing platforms, including Zoom, Cisco WebEx, Microsoft Teams and others.

The Shure Microflex range includes the Advance MXA910 Ceiling Array, MXA310 Table Array, and MXA710 Linear Array Microphones, and Microflex Wireless (MXW) Systems, which can be combined with Microflex MXN5-C Networked Ceiling Loudspeakers, the IntelliMix P300 Audio Conferencing Processor and IntelliMix Room Audio Processing Software. Installations are managed using the Designer System Configuration Software and SystemOn Audio Asset Management Software. Shure also offers a range of control accessories and Audio Network Interfaces.

“By maintaining the Stem Audio portfolio as a distinct set of products and offering our customers the option of two ecosystems, Shure can offer products with the right levels of customizability, features, design, and price to suit every type of customer and every type of environment without having to compromise,” says Jim Schanz, Vice President of Global System Sales at Shure.

Both Shure’s Microflex Ecosystem and Stem Ecosystem solutions are backed by the company's support infrastructure and are ready to be deployed in small collaborative spaces or large multi-purpose rooms, from the largest global enterprise or university to the small-medium business or local college.
