January 2 2017, 03:10
LG Electronics is showing new concepts for wearable sound at CES 2017, with the unveiling of its LG TONE Studio and LG TONE Free designs, combining its already familiar neckband concept with new wireless charging earbuds and a new approach to personal surround sound on a wearable. The lineup will be led by the new LG TONE Studio wearable speakers capable of delivering surround sound and the LG TONE Free earphones with truly wireless earbuds that charge when docked in the companion neckband.

LG Electronics (LG), is unveiling a number of new wireless, wearable audio products at CES 2017. The LG TONE Free (model HBS-F110) is LG’s first wireless stereo product to come with wireless earbuds that charge whenever they are stored inside the neckband, making them easy to charge and carry. The LG TONE Studio (model HBS-W120) personal wearable speaker features an improved high-quality DAC and four speakers - two full range on the top and two vibrating on the bottom - providing a personal surround sound experience when watching a movie, playing a video game or simply streaming music. With Dual Play, users can also connect two LG TONE Studio wearable speakers and share the same sound source, while watching a movie or listening to music.

The neckband of the new LG TONE Free wireless earbuds provides extra battery power and vibration alerts for incoming calls and text messages, and also provides a secure place to store the earbuds when not in the user’s ears, making them less likely to be lost. An optional charging cradle provides more power for those times when the neckband might not be convenient. And for even more freedom, LG TONE Free allows users to go completely hands free and answer or ignore a call with voice commands for a real wireless stereo experience with no cords, no tangles, and no hassles.

The LG TONE Studio and LG TONE Free are just two of the marquee products in LG’s new Bluetooth headset lineup for CES 2017. Other models to be unveiled include the newly designed TONE INFINIM (model HBS-920) featuring LG’s Metal Layer Speaker Technology, and the TONE ULTRA (model HBS-820), developed in collaboration with JBL, featuring dual MEMS microphones for improved call clarity. The LG TONE Active+ – CES 2017 Innovation Award winner in the wireless headphone category – will also be on display along with LG’s entire lineup of wearable audio products including the TONE Platinum, TONE Pro and LG Force.
