Holoplot Introduces Design and Simulation Software for X1 Matrix Arrays

February 13 2023, 00:45
Berlin-based pro audio company Holoplot returned to this year’s Integrated Systems Europe show to reveal the Beta version of its new design and simulation software Holoplot Plan as well as the new rigging system for its X1 product series. Holoplot made again a strong impact at ISE 2023, with its demo room in Hall 8 always busy for an intense schedule of demos and presentations.

Roman Sick, Holoplot CEO led an energized team during ISE 2023, with the company once again being at the center of attention for system integrators.

More than just a loudspeaker, the X1 series  - consisting of the Modul 96 full-range speaker and the Modul 80-S loudspeaker with built in sub - is a fully integrated system which combines sophisticated software and IoT capabilities. By combining 3D Audio-Beamforming and Wavefield Synthesis sound can be steered vertically and horizontally, directly to a listener’s precise location.

Holoplot brought these capabilities to the Barcelona show, delivering an open demo and seminar program, showcasing and explaining the effects of 3D Audio-Beamforming, coverage zones, virtual source localization and multi-zones on systems designs for some of its latest projects. Holoplot technology is software-driven and hardware-enabled, granting unparalleled possibilities for ultra-precise control over sound propagation and localization. With the hardware now in place, Holoplot is working to make installation, design and control a part of its creative process.

Following a preview at InfoComm 2022, Holoplot marked the launch of the company’s brand new X1 rigging system, which could be seen in action inside the Holoplot demo room at ISE 2023. Thanks to the new rigging system, the X1 Matrix Array becomes even more flexible in supporting applications in multi-purpose event spaces, large-scale live entertainment venues, auditoriums, concert halls, etc. Arrays can be built vertically and horizontally and are infinitely scalable - opening the door for X1 into both the fixed installation and rental market.

Visual Proof
One of the most important tools missing to enable X1 deployments globally is precisely what Holoplot brought to ISE. Workstations on the Holoplot booth gave visitors the opportunity to get hands on with the Beta version of Holoplot Plan, the company’s newly developed sound system design software. The Beta version of the software makes designing, simulating, and setting up a Holoplot sound system simple and intuitive.

"Our aim is to make our technology more accessible," says Head of Product Michael Kastner. "Holoplot Plan allows creatives and designers to see the direct impact our technology can have on their own projects."

Using the software 3D graphical interface, Matrix Arrays of different configurations can be designed, and sound fields based on 3D Audio-Beamforming and Wave Field Synthesis technologies can be created. Holoplot Plan simulates and visualizes direct sound pressure levels, providing a realistic prediction of the audio coverage in the venue. For further analysis and advanced simulations, projects can be exported to EASE.

Holoplot is extending an invitation for users to join their mission by designing sound systems using the Beta version of Holoplot Plan and share their thoughts and feedback with the team by signing up to the Early Access Program.

"We’re currently running an Early Access Program for Holoplot Plan, onboarding users via a tailored program that provides a thorough understanding of Matrix Array technology. Our program allows designers to realize creative and effective Holoplot systems. At ISE we used Plan as a vehicle to explain X1’s unique capabilities. It’s been a great opportunity to visually illustrate what our technology can do before sending people to our demo room. The combination of both experiences created a comprehensive overview of Holoplot audio technology for the visitor and resulted in packed demo sessions and plenty of interesting conversations," Kastner adds.

Those interested in joining the Early Access Program can sign up here.
