Cleer Audio Announces Hideaki Yamaguchi (Yama) as CEO

Cleer Audio, the US-based headphones and smart speaker brand, announced the appointment of Hideaki Yamaguchi (Yama) as its new CEO effective immediately. A product management, marketing and supply chain specialist who previously worked in Sony's consumer division and Logitech, Yamaguchi brings Cleer Audio a wealth of experience with his extensive background in consumer electronics. He replaces Patrick Huang who left the company earlier in the year.

Established in 2012, Cleer Audio is a recognized brand in consumer headphones and smart speakers, standing out for its distinctive designs and innovative features, always at the cutting-edge of market trends. Based in San Diego, California, the brand has received many awards for its products, several nominations to the CES Innovations Award. In 2022, Cleer was recognized for its Alpha Noise Cancelling wireless headphones, pioneering Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation, paired with spatial audio, powered by Dirac Virtuo technology.

Always devoted to pioneering breakthroughs, and embracing the latest audio technologies, Cleer Audio is gearing up for an exciting CES 2025 show where it will promote its new ARC3 True Wireless Open-Ear Earbuds with Smart Case, a flexible ear hook hinge design using the latest Qualcomm S5 platform that includes an advanced LCD touchscreen smart case with extended battery life. The new Cleer ARC3 earbuds are also equipped with Dolby Atmos optimization with Dolby head tracking for immersive sound. The company will also unveil new products for 2025 that build upon its successful designs.
 

The appointment of Hideaki Yamaguchi as the new CEO will be vital for the company, benefiting from his global management, sales, marketing, and operations experience. In his appointment announcement, the company describes Yamaguchi as "a proven leader and product marketing maverick, known for his strategic thinking and meticulous operations as he navigates his teams and company to prevail in highly competitive landscapes."

Yama spent more than two decades with Sony Electronics. During his tenure at Sony, he was Senior Manager / Director of Product Marketing / Business Planning and Strategy, working in the US, Japan and Europe. Most recently, Yamaguchi was Head of Global Operations at Swann Communications for 6 years. Before that, he was Head of Japan Sales and Marketing at Logitech, based in Japan. Yama holds a bachelor's degree from Kyoto University.

Yamaguchi was recruited by Cleer Audio following the resignation and departure of Patrick Huang in the summer. He is based in San Diego, CA. at Cleer's US headquarters.
