Cleer Audio, the US-based headphones and smart speaker brand, announced the appointment of Hideaki Yamaguchi (Yama) as its new CEO effective immediately. A product management, marketing and supply chain specialist who previously worked in Sony's consumer division and Logitech, Yamaguchi brings Cleer Audio a wealth of experience with his extensive background in consumer electronics. He replaces Patrick Huang who left the company earlier in the year.

The news that Apple launched an updated version of its (regular) AirPods was somewhat muffled by the announcement of the hearing aid capabilities brought to AirPods Pro 2 with a simple software update. But the new AirPods 4 with ANC are a big deal for the industry which has been struggling to combine the benefits of the loose-fit (now also called open-ear) form-factor with the convenience of active noise cancellation when required. The key, as always for Apple, is in the elegant implementation of Adaptive Audio.

Included in the series of announcements was the unveiling of Samsung's latest Galaxy Buds 3 Series true wireless earbuds, which surprised everyone for the radical departure from its original design in the previous generations. The new Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro now look exactly like the earbud shapes of the AirPods.
