Beltone Serene Hearing Aids with Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast Now Available

February 7 2024, 01:10
Beltone, a brand of the GN Group, announced that its latest Beltone Serene hearing aids are now available. Originally announced in September 2023, these are the first hearing aids supporting Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast available in the market in a full range of styles to suit all hearing needs, including the innovative weatherproof, rechargeable custom design that looks like the user is wearing the most advanced (and cool!) earbuds.

Even though the Bluetooth LE Audio specification updates resulted from requirements that were pretty much defined by the hearing aid industry, it doesn't seem that the leading companies in this space are feeling much urgency to get to market. Firmly committed to being Bluetooth compatible and Auracast-enabled, the GN Group stands out in this regard with the announcement of the availability of the Beltone Serene range, offering the first-ever hearing aid connection with Auracast.

The Serene family of hearing aids is defined as Beltone's best yet, helping users to hear in noisy situations and designed with the next generation of Bluetooth connectivity and native compatibility with Microsoft Windows PCs. Through a collaboration with Microsoft, Beltone is also paving the way for the first hearing aids natively compatible with new Windows PCs that support Bluetooth LE Audio, allowing people to seamlessly experience the exceptional quality of Beltone Serene on their compatible Windows devices. This also means being able to stream sound from Teams calls, from compatible Windows devices directly to their Beltone Serene hearing aids.

The Beltone Serene hearing aids are available in a full range of styles, including Beltone's smallest devices yet, all packed with all the features users need to hear their best in any situation. The styles include traditional Behind-the-Ear (BTE), Custom Rechargeable, and Completely-in-Canal (CIC), in addition to the previously launched Receiver-in-Ear (RIE) and microRIE models with rechargeable options (not including CIC). All Beltone Serene styles are discreetly designed for all-day comfort, weatherproof, sweatproof, and available in a diverse range of color options.

"We are thrilled to be pioneers in offering Auracast technology with our Beltone Serene hearing aids as it will significantly improve accessibility in public spaces for individuals with hearing loss. The expanded product line also offers individuals a wider range of options to best suit their needs and preferences, complementing Beltone Serene's cutting-edge next generation of hearing and connectivity," says David Molella, President of Beltone North America.

With the Auracast-ready Beltone Serene hearing aids, users will be able to easily tune into a desired Auracast broadcast audio using their compatible smartphone. In the near future, this will offer endless possibilities in public settings such as airports, movie theaters, places of worship and more.

More importantly for now, users will be able to enjoy Auracast in the comfort of their own home with the easy connectivity of Beltone Serene to the new Beltone TV-Streamer+, which also allows others to connect with Auracast enabled devices. This feature offers a 56% improvement in speech recognition compared to standard TV speakers, significantly enhancing the at-home viewing experience.
